These meetings are a wonderful idea. Throughout the year my family and I spend a great deal of time in our National Park systems. Many of their roads need improvements, there are always different wildlife projects going on across the US that provide teaching classes for students.Of course all of these things cost millions of dollars that must come from somewhere that the Park system just doesn't have.I myself do not believe that any visitor to the Parks would be opposed to a small fee of say $5 or even $10 per vehicle if it went directly to the park in which collected, for its upkeep.Even the bicyclists should be charged the same rate for usage. After all the roads have to be maintained, the wildlife protected, grounds have to be upkept, the picnic areas have to be maintained.
Theres a world of history in these parks if one takes the time to explore them. They are much better than going to Disney in my opinion.

I was happy to see that a rep from the North Shore was able to at least verbalize the desires of this minority that believes in the completion of the 1943 Agreement by completing the road that would allow all Americans access to the Southern portion of the GSMNP while invigorating the economy of the region. The environment seems to have recovered well in the portion built in the 1960s. This group has seen in the past what happens to cash settlement and do not trust the present day politicians any more than they should have in the 1940s. Just look at the investigations going on due to possible election problems last fall and you can understand the lack of trust.
