Feb 1, 2011 Full story: New Jersey Herald 16

In 1984, the township settled a civil rights lawsuit with a township employee for $47,000, residents and politicians debated the future of sewer systems, and officials argued over board appointments.

It will be more of the same. This one's in with Rinker and Paladini, the same ones that caused so much trouble for this town especially in the past year to further their agenda of new government.

don't lose faith yet. Although Marotta and Rinker have been friendly in the past, he had nothing to do with the disasters over the past year. Stay tuned, because I'm sure Rinker will be running for Mayor again herself...so clearly they are not a united front.

He's the one who sued the town to get Rinker on the council. There are certainly ties. Paladini boasts that she and Marotta have been friends for over 20 years. There are connections only you won't see them, they'll be very careful after this last uncovering of impropriety.

Marotta and Rinker will very likely be opponents. As to Marrotta sueing the Town,(it was really the Republican Council that was the target), the judge agreed with everything he had to say. While Emelius was the collateral damage, the truth is that Andrea (Bunny) Cocula wanted the vacated seat and was denied.

Bunny is the local Republican power broker in Vernon, has been for 20 plus years, she is already a double dipperas far as state pensions in concerned but still works for Steve Oroho in the 24th district and draws a salary for being an officer of the Sussex County Utility Authority which is party to the must troubled sewer project in Vernon for which the taxpayer will be repaying $27,000,000 starting in 2010.

If Rinker runs against Marotta and Rickey, it will just be to make it a three-way race and dilute the voting. Rinker could take votes away from Rickey and distract just enough so that Marotta could win with a relatively small number of votes (as relates to the number of registered voters.)

Have you seen his slate? A former BOE member?
Great..the only thing he knows about taxes is how to raise them and VTA people who have ties to the one who has her hands in everything. If they get in guess they'll put in a direct phone line right to her house so she doesn't miss anything.

Vernon First's team #1 mission is to NEVER raise taxes. If you are interested [it will be publicized soon] they are holding a Meet The Candidates type event at Minerals Resorts on 3/3/11. Exact time TBD.

Good luck with that! When have you ever seen a politician keep any promises? Rinker never kept any of her's either. They should also include the BOE budget in that mission. That's where the bulk of our taxes go.

Folks when Mulvahil held a Mountain creek welcome meeting after purchasing the resort back his advisement was as such. "We have the right people in Trenton to do what we want and will get the town council right soon. More sewers at taxpayers cost and higher taxes and he wont pay a dime. Marotta meet and greet at Crystal Springs???? Who doesnt see the marotta Mulvahill connection? What other big topics besides tax evasion, filing bankruptcy and leaving the town in the 90's with no care. Also Radon and other extreme issues this team was involved with. Its bad enough the Mulvhill's are a back in town. Andrew Mulvahill was just given some political education board position. Folks stand up and make sure that under no circumstance Marotta acquires any political position in our town let along our state. He is the most dishonest man just like the Mulvahills. And lets show the Mulvahills we care more about our town them Hardyston does.(another corrupt town)

Please read "tired of stupid people" remarks for other issues with him.

How about this for an idea......for years everyone in Vernon has expressed total dislike for Gene and company. Why not cultivate and learn from this man. He is a very brillant successful business man. Perhaps learning from him would solve many problems in the Township budget. That dosn't mean putting Marotta in charge. It means learning from what many feel is the enemy. Holding ones enemies closer than friends is perhaps the way out of this mess.

Successful business man of course when you have people paid to look the other way. Hardyston 's buiding inspector is the most corrupt guy in the county. The reason his real estate goes up so quick is because nothing is inspected. People have had to vacate there homes because of foundations cracking and so on. Learn from him. You must be a good friend of his. Did you not read what I advised? How about the 40 plus local people positions he terminated since his Mountain Creek acquisition. With our economy and times you think he would have a had a better approach to help people. And again he is a convicted felon because he wasnt an honest businessman in the past. How about moral at his company? All of his employees are the most unhappiest peope I have ever seen at a corporation. He doesnt care he never will and he shouldnt be allowed to do business in Vernon twshp at all!
Vote no to Marotta at any cost and hopefully the right team in Vernon is voted in that wil not let his show run Vernon!

Friend? Good friend, oh hell no! I know what he's all about, however, whatever he's about he manages to get the best of everything and most of the time gets away with most everything. I stay as far away from him as possible. The Township is in deep trouble and he is thriving.

His felony conviction was sometime in the 70's wasn't it? Matter of fact I believe it had sometime to do with "ladies of the night and illegal substances" if memory serves me correctly. Yep he's a dirt bag, but he's a brilliant dirt bag. I remember the Feds taking his money right out of the admission booths at Action Park because he didn't pay the taxes. There aren't many empolyees who love their boss or what they do for a living. Mtn Creek is not the only place for unhappiness.

BUT HE STILL HAS LOTS OF MONEY AND OWNS LOTS OF BUSINESSES. Learning how and sifting out the stuff that one would get into trouble for wouldn't be easy but it MIGHT make a successful LEGAL return for the residents and put the Township back in the black.

Not allowing that man to have a business isn't something any one can do with the exception of government officals. He's already dug in and is holding on tight, like a tic sucking blood. Observing and changing what needs to be made legal might be a way to be successful.

BTW I totally dislike Marotta...he is dirt bag number 2! If the residents elect him their is NO help to get back what has been lost for so long.

are you guys Vernon residents? Our property taxes are insane here and for nothing. If we allow any business into town, our residential taxes will go DOWN which is necessary for us to help residents afford to live here. The anti-progression groups need to realize times are changing, and we WANT and NEED business here for many reasons.

We need the businesses to offset the water and sewer obligations and stabilize the municipal budget--but it is just a myth that taxes will go down. Sad, but true.

30+ years a resident. What does that have to do with not wanting Marotta in office? My taxes went from 4,000. to 15,000.......you think I like that? I want business here too but these damn idiots think we can live without industry and gee pay the difference. My thoughts are observing the master of finance (gene) weeding out all the illegal stuff thrown into it and use the good stuff to further the growth in the Township. I dislike most involved in government, they seem to want what is best for their adgenda and could care less about John Q Public.
