The problem is that journalists do not have a broad-based education. To get a degree in journalism, a student should be required, at the college level, to have one year of physics, one year of chemistry, and one year of a life science. They should also be required to study history, comparative religions, and other subjects so that the will be competent to write articles on a number of subjects. Then, they would be better able to understand the subjects on which they are writing.
