Traffic circles will replace stoplights, signs

Wendy Byerly Wood Associate Editor PILOT MOUNTAIN - The intersections of the U.S. 52 ramps with N.C. 268/Key Street will soon see a drastic change from the stoplight and stop signs that now guide traffic.

how is a circle going to help when you have to cross traffic. why not make a exit ramp go under the bridge and come around like the one in winston-salem @ hwy 52 & university parkway. go under the bridge and come up on the the correct side,so you will not have to cross traffic.

I would think we would just need another traffic light at 52 N off ramp and Key Street I am sure some one could figure out the timing issue. even with the right hand turn at the bank and the left at McDonalds.

I am guessing the DOT feels it will be cheaper in the long run without lights maintains ect.
