Haslam wins Sumner County straw poll

Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam was the Sumner County GOP's pick to win the Republican nomination for governor, winning a Reagan Day Dinner straw poll with 134 votes.

Attended the dinner last night and met all the candidates. While Haslam seems like a nice man and claims to have run his family's oil business, the reality is that his father started Pilot Oil, and his brother runs it. And hasn't Pilot expanded its business mostly through mergers and acquisitions of other companies? No wonder all the bankers are supporting him!

Zach Wamp is much more authentic. Although he has been in Congress 16 years, he has never moved his residence to D.C.
