Inmate hangs himself in Sullivan Jail - third suicide this year

A Suffern man hanged himself in the Sullivan County Jail on Saturday night - the third suicide this year in the Century-old jail.

Who would not want to kill themselves in that place? The place has a skunk in the basement, fleas, roaches and rats. Some of the CO's are nasty to the prisoners. One such CO is a racist and blames her job as being one to those she calls racial slurs. Who passed her psychological test and who allowed her to have a gun? Yes they are in there for doing a crime, but they do not deserve to live with rats roaches and fleas, the next thing you know the black plague will be going through there. They should shut the place down and move the prisoners to another county.

Only those in there know that one...who wants to bet the CO who was supposed to be watching him was on their cell phone, or reading a book or something...the only way to get in that place is to know someone...like they say..they give some of them guns some of them are not fit to handle a gun. Sullivan is a good old boys network. They won't tell anything.

Its predicable, the mayor is just as dirty as the crooked cops in this towns. I mean really, he hires his friends to do all the work, lets the gangs know when the police are tipped, you name it. He owns the place on Broadway that sells illegal DVDS and drug paraphernalia

I was in the cell nextt to him. My names cody lemon. They weren't doing there jobs they went around atleast 4 times to check on people but did not give to fucks if he was ok behind the sheet that was tied up for a hour . They came around every 15 mins on a block. I'm only 19. I didn't want to experience that. It was crazy I just had a dream about him that's why I'm writing this
