Are bets open? I say within 15 months.

And, yes, I will be one of those applauding when it happens.

As it inevitably will.

If it is not criminal to kill three innocent people because you disobey road rules, then why have road rules? Speed kills and not all drivers do it, that is the difference. Speed limits are there for a reason and if drivers choose to ignore them and kill because of it then a crime has been committed. at this rate it will be ok for all drivers to kill at least once!

It's not the speed that kills. It's the sudden stop.

There's a reason why its called an accident. Speeding is not a crime it is a violation, the majority of motorist speed , driving 40 mph in a 30 mph speed zone is speeding. Good for NY's top court.
strange distinctions

A society that has to nitpick between "crimes" and "violations" is near the end of the line. Hold on, we're going down!

An accident is something that cannot be prevented,or forseen. Excessive speed can be prevented, and so can the damage it causes. same as drunk driving. It cannot be accidently done. Courts have no idea of the value of human life anymore. Unless of course the life belongs to the offender.
