Cops: L.I. Girl Made Up Story about Bus Stop Grab

Police say a Long Island schoolgirl made up a story about being grabbed by a man at a bus stop and she's being charged. via WINS-AM New York

Just another thing to make our area look bad AGAIN. I hope this person is held accountable for making up this terrible story. The last girl that did this same thing didn't get into trouble. One of the things my parents taught me was never to lie. This is why we have the problems in Mastic/Shirley...because people aren't being punished for NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING!!!! Be for real people, let's hear about some good stuff here.

Mastic Beach is only in the news when bad things happen. How about reporting the nicer things our beach with live music in the summer, our crab festival. Yes bad things do happen put I think the residents are to blame as well (I am a resident). We are a small community and should speak up for our town, report the bad things before they get out of control. This young girl I personally know and she is a good student who gets harrased by classmates because she is smart. How about we teach our kids to be kind to others. I see it everyday kids swearing out the bus windows at other students kids being picked on on the buses (please bus drivers I know there are alot of kids but you have to step in a bit).

I agree with you 100 percent and I am too a resident. I'm sorry, I know the kids are tough these days but you also need COMMON SENSE. Could you please tell me what the kids on the bus have to do with this girl lying about a man trying to pick her up at her bus stop????? She has NO CLUE what kind of negative feedback this lie gives our neighborhood. ESPECIALLY AFTER ALL THE BAD THINGS IN THE NEWS LATELY. I also have 3 children in the school district and I also work for the school. Not that I am against this girl....but I just don't seem to get it!!!
