I got sick on Christmas in the middle of the night and I thought it was just from the alcohol. Then all day was throwing up had bacd stomach pains, my skin was achy and felt like I had a fever. Sunday I felt fine and I thought everything was ok, I was eating normal and everyhting, and then out of no where today (Monday) I am throwing up again with the bad stomach pains and everything! I don't know how to get rid of it and it's killing me!

What I dont understand is why people go out and around others when they have this crap. Have we grown ignorant these days or what. My little girl and I have had that mess and its miserable... but we stay locked up in the house away from public places and other people so we dont spread it for it to come back to us again. alot of people arent the cleanest people either. bleach and lysol and germ x,doesnt hurt anyone . i hate having this mess. I think if everyone took better care of themselves as far as keeping their hands clean and havin a little sense by not goin out in the public when they have this crap or right after they get over it.. the shit wouldnt be so bad everywhere.also i think vitamin c shortens the length of the bug. I also take protegra... its a good antioxidant. But they say if ur goin to get it u just are. i dunno... i constantly wash my hands and make her wash hers... so hopefully we will miss out on it this time... but who knows.

If everyone washed there hands and cleaned there houses so the virus would not spread so bad we would be alot safer from it.Do you know alot of people get it from there own homes?then they spread it.You inhale it,and thats how you get sick. But you are right about ignorant people, going out and spreading it.

Carla, I was wondering about the illnesses going around and if leg cramps were a symptom. My son is on medication for strep throat, and he seems to have gotten a cold in the process, lots of coughing, sneezing. But the other morning he woke up with strange leg cramps. I thought maybe he had twisted his leg the day before but he told me, No. What's strange is that I'm also feeling a little "under the weather" and have slight leg cramps. Are leg cramps a symptom of one of the viruses going around?
No the leg cramps are due to the dehydration... the lack of Potassium causes the cramps.

I just got over this and it's the worst shit ever. I had two days of crapping water and puking. It was so horrible I just fell asleep on the floor next to the bathroom cause I couldn't move without my stomach feeling like I was gonna die. In a 3 day period all I had was 7up, toast, and chicken noodle soup, and that was after a day and a half or so and I could barley keep it all down, I had to eat it in horribly small doses and long periods of time. And I had leg cramps to, I could hardly sleep because my legs kept aching horribly and I couldn't get them comfortable at all. And as in the whole New York/New Jersey thing, I live in the middle of Missouri, pure country and everything, and I hardly ever get sick. When this hit me, I thought I was gonna die.

This thing is horrible. It comes out of no where and hits hard! I thought it was food poisoning at first. I couldn't even keep water down, which is scary since you are losing so much water! Watch out for dehydration!

OMG, that's so funny. While reading about this, all I can think about is a book I just read "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston. It's about the Ebola virus. Stephen King called it one of the most horrifying things he's ever read.
Thanks to that and stories like this, it's amazing to think about how easily germs and viruses can spread. I shudder to think at how easily bioterrorism could wipe out whole populations!
It's something to think about as people sneeze and cough around you while walking through crowded malls... touching escalator rails... shopping carts... store doors...
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! LMAO!!!

If you have been exposed but do not have the virus yet, try drinking grape juice (Welch's 100%..the purple one)around 3 times a day for a few days. This changes the acidic composition in your stomach and makes it difficult for the virus to survive. It worked for us...definitely worth a shot. Do not give it to the person with the virus...it will not help once you have symptoms. Hope this helps! Good luck! I would not wish a stomach virus on my worst enemy!!

Omg! If your in Houston,Tx watch out! Its going around and will have you "screaming eagle" within a few hours.

My boyfriend(24) got this and the NEXT freaking night I (25)woke up with it at 4am puking non stop... diarrhea (basically pissing out your ass) was soon to follow within 2 hours until later that night. It's the second day now and he's better but I still have the watery shits. To think when I was taking care of him just the other day, not thinking I was watching what I was going to have to go through too soon enough. Ugh! So contagious. I know we have to pay bills, but please don't rush back to work and spread this. Plus you might "shart" your pants in public if you rush getting better first. Food poisoning my ass....
