I don't see making the kids walk to school as any type of mistreatment that CPS needs to be involved in. The reporting school official obviously needs to have some children of their own! We all have schedules to meet, like going to work. If my kids miss the bus, they're on their own to make it (2.5 miles) to school too. Good grief people!!!

With all the stories about child obesity, I can't see this as being a bad thing. Next thing we know, CPS will be investigating parents for taking away junior's cell phone and Wii. Kudos to the parents for removing the children from Big Brother Elementary.

I can’t believe that about the Spokane mom who made her kids walk to school? At least she made sure they were safe by following them. What the heck is wrong with that? If I was in that position, I wouldn’t be opposed to imposing a similar punishment. What the heck does CPS think they will investigate? Were the kids in danger – no? Were the kids abused – no? Were the kids injured – no? Stop, CPS. Go investigate other more heinous crimes against our precious kids.

I'm incredulous that CPS would waste it's time with this nonsense while childern are being tortured in cities around the state. When I was their age I'd be lucky if my mom was whipping my butt every step of the way. And... I'd never miss the bus again!

I think that CPS needs to start dealing with all the parents that are wacked out on drugs & or beating the hell out of their kids, instead of interfearing with the families that are trying to bring their kids up to be responsible & productive members of society....

CPS is a self-serving bureaucracy. They want children to be threatened because it protects their cushy jobs. These lazy paper shufflers don't care about kids, as is evident by their desire to make up issues instead of dealing with anything substantive. A friend of mine worked for CPS in Idaho and they are the biggest bunch of holier than thou ass-patters out there.

WOW now I know where CPS is so that they have no time to save kids who need it. Like the 4 and 5 yo girls in Colville who lost their father and sister last week, whos mother is making up crazy lies so that noone will notice her own father (a pedaphile) is in town and spending lots of time these little girls. She has also anounnced that her church is paying for the funerial and then turned around asking for money to for their funerials. Not only is she a lier (not a reason for CPS involvment) She is accusing her husband on exactly what her father did to her and her oldest daughter while letting her father spend time with her yougest 2 daughters, Why are these 2 pressious angels not being saved?

Just another reason for abolishing property taxes and letting people be free to choose their own education for their kids.

If you do a net analysis of costs and gains it is becoming more and more reasonable to home school your kids. I know it might not be possible for everybody that need two incomes in the family, but if we had vouchers and less government in general, it would be available to more people.

Yes!!! Totally agree. How about this foster mom I know of who basicaly abandon her kid to a teen crisis center cause he was smoking. Really when my parents caught me smoking they said "It's your lungs" Now I quit and lungs are screwed up because of it. Oh well!!! We need to go back to the good old days of let kids learn from their own mistakes and CPS should put their efforts toward crazy parents (by title only) who are collecting child support and my state tax money for taking care of a kid who they abandoned on the streets. The government needs to focus on whats really important and stop being the self rightious pricks they have been for years. Stay out of real parents business and focus on the F'ed up wack jobs out there.
