I don't see making the kids walk to school as any type of mistreatment that CPS needs to be involved in. The reporting school official obviously needs to have some children of their own! We all have schedules to meet, like going to work. If my kids miss the bus, they're on their own to make it (2.5 miles) to school too. Good grief people!!!

With all the stories about child obesity, I can't see this as being a bad thing. Next thing we know, CPS will be investigating parents for taking away junior's cell phone and Wii. Kudos to the parents for removing the children from Big Brother Elementary.

I can’t believe that about the Spokane mom who made her kids walk to school? At least she made sure they were safe by following them. What the heck is wrong with that? If I was in that position, I wouldn’t be opposed to imposing a similar punishment. What the heck does CPS think they will investigate? Were the kids in danger – no? Were the kids abused – no? Were the kids injured – no? Stop, CPS. Go investigate other more heinous crimes against our precious kids.

I'm incredulous that CPS would waste it's time with this nonsense while childern are being tortured in cities around the state. When I was their age I'd be lucky if my mom was whipping my butt every step of the way. And... I'd never miss the bus again!

I think that CPS needs to start dealing with all the parents that are wacked out on drugs & or beating the hell out of their kids, instead of interfearing with the families that are trying to bring their kids up to be responsible & productive members of society....

CPS is a self-serving bureaucracy. They want children to be threatened because it protects their cushy jobs. These lazy paper shufflers don't care about kids, as is evident by their desire to make up issues instead of dealing with anything substantive. A friend of mine worked for CPS in Idaho and they are the biggest bunch of holier than thou ass-patters out there.
