Albany won't have a permanent economic development chief until January.

As Albany fights to keep one of its largest employers open, the community is missing a key economic development player.

First of all, if this Brooks character were the right person, the right person would be here working as hard as possible to save Cooper.

Second, what in the world does Adams hope to accomplish by traveling to Ohio except to waste time and taxpayer money? As evidenced by recent bad decisions, he isn't intellectually able to distinguish good from bad - nor moral enough to know right from wrong.

Frankly if I were Cooper, I'd consider leaving if only for the simple fact that Adams is the Mayor of Albany and under his lack of leadership, the City cannot get its act together. Adams says "we have a great assembly of minds and ideas that we can put together." Okay fine. Name one.

The brightest minds in Albany will have nothing to do with city government as long as he is mayor and Lott remains employed.

I no longer expect anything from Willie Adams, nor do I expect anyone in city government or politics to call him out.

When he leaves office, these same people will want to name something after him and try to rewrite history and declare him Albany's greatest mayor.
