If Bill had been successful at shooting his target than people would have grieved the loss of a well respected police officer also. Doesn't it make sense that if someone attacks you that you defend yourself. well at the very second when an officer hears gunshots they are trained to protect themselves. If you had a gun when someone is shooting at you wouldn't you use it too?
