Port St. Lucie Police won't bill parents of boys in missing girl hoax

Police Chief Donald Shinnamon Sr. has decided not to make the parents of two boys who made a bogus report of a girl being abducted Wednesday morning pay the costs of the massive effort to find the nonexistent girl.

First i want to say i am glad that the little girl is fine.Second those 2 boys should get community service; even if they have to help out at there local school or community center;I know they are young, but really the parents hands are tied in this society; if they spank the kids then children services will be called or the kids call themselves.These kids have to learn now that this is not OK to call in false reports. There was police everywhere(large expense); not to mention a large portion of people who were terrified when the Amber Alert was called that was driving on Wednesday and was actually looking for a white ford van; 2 hispanic males and a little girl. Again in this case i don't fault the parents, however these kids need to have some concequences for their actions.

agree 110% rebecca.Theres no control boundries for kids these days.The judicial system has failed them,and we as parents to apply discipline,so we are also failing them.Nowadays a spanking is called child abuse,no wonder we have so many young misfits in society today.a good spanking always worked for me.I guess well see the outcome of these actions more and more as time goes on.A real brainiac came up with the spanking scars a child for life theory. Maybe when these folks get there asses beat and robbed by these same kids they will think otherwise...P.S parents,take pictures of your kids that wear their pants down to their knees and show them how foolish they were,and also get a good laugh out of it.
