A "black male" student being escorted to a waiting police car in handcuffs outide of a "north St. Louis" county high school....gee imagine that! And the six "black" students from Wash U wonder why they were not allowed in a Chicago bar? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put two and two together!

This is so ourageous how things are at River View Gardens. My school needs to tighten up with the security and maybethings like this wont happen. I mean the kids here are really scared. Thats a shame we dont feel safe in school.

It is a shame period!!! This school is my alma mater! Class 1981!! To see it go down in tubes the way it is, is shameful. I feel sad for the teens that attend this school and don't feel safe. I used to walk to this school when I attended and I never had to feel anything but secure!!

Well at least they caught the person. Instead of a suspension, the person needs to be expelled from school. I used to go there and it is ok then, but now it is falling apart. All kids are scared to go to school now a days and that is ashame. What is this world coming to. Glad I am on my way out of this SICK world. It will even get worse cuz of the holidays coming up and alot of people are out of work.

"One school official says this is the first incident of this kind during THIS school year."

THIS school year - it's only two 1/2 months in! How 'bout ever? Do other high schools have weapons in them every year or "Incidents of this kind" every year? Don't know that I've ever heard Marquette in Rockwood with this problem.

Every school district has their issues - don't make this a north county incident. I am sure even Rockwood and Marquette have problems. The problem is not the school district - it starts at home with the parents

Using the name Robert E Lee pretty much shows why your comment is what it is.

What a shame such a good school went til hell. What happen to the all security & metal detectors? Guess the supertindent stole all the money, they can't afford it.. What ever happened to the idiot, did he ever spand a day in jail? the guy makes 100,000 plus & and the school can't afford books. I'm sure the parents will have a good explanation for why the kid brought the gun to school also.

One has nothing to do with the other. The six Wash U students may not have been allowed in because of dress code but when they switched clothes with whites, the whites were allowed in and they still were not. And these students are being decent, they are not sueing for money gain, what they want is an apology.

Speaking of bars their is a big difference, I have no problem if blacks come into a bar to watch sports, play pool or even it's a nightclub, but if whites try to enter, what is known as a black bar, theirs a hell alot of tension please explain, but if your all honest that's the truth. Good luck to Riverview no matter what the reason expell this kid! Nail the person who gave him the gun also,if it was brought from home nail the parents too.

its no shock that this doesnt happen at mostly white schools..........no someone please tell me why that is!

is it that blacks are more violent at all ages?

is it that whites are more civilized?

is it that blacks and their supporters just keep turning a blind eye to it all?

i think its all of the above

We keep blaming the school. It is not the schools responsibility to raise these kids. Where in the H--- are the parents. May be just like the kids. My problem is all we see is blacks shooting blacks. Blacks robbing black and white people. If the whites try cleaning up the problem we are racist. When is he black community going to get serious about cleaning up the problem. IT IS NOT THE SCHOOLS PLACE BUT PARENTS AND CIVIC LEADERS RESPONSIBILITY........

Go Figure!! Another black student arrested at school with a gun! I am so glad he was caught. He should be expelled period. Just like the students on the buss incident, the students visiting Chicago that were not allowed in. Well we cannot send out kids to school due to stupid people, we cannot let them ride the bus due to the same thing, what is next for our kids??? It is just very sad.

Many of your comments lead me to understand why there is why there is hatred and racism in the world today. For all we know, the child could have been bullied. Instead of looking at the color of the student and the location of the school, address the situation. These types of situations happen in MANY, if not all school districts. But the news media is only going to focus on the areas that they choose to. If it had been a Parkway High School, the story would have included details about the victim and why he possibly brought a gun to school. If the student were a kindergarten white male in Rockwood, the media would have said the student brought the gun to show it off. But since people like Scott and General Lee probably don't know many black males personally, it's acceptable for them to assume all black males are "Boyz in da Hood."

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aries

The level of sexual chemistry flowing between you and you-know-who is so powerful right now that you could almost reach out and touch it. This could lead to some X-rated scenes but there's also a chance that it could go another way and provoke a combustible atmosphere. So do your best to steer the situation in whichever direction you want it to take.
