That's one big snake!

It's like the animals who get the largest, fought against all odds, are always the ones killed. How long did it take that snake to reach such lengths and he was snuffed, just like that.
Sorry, that's the way I feel about it.
Seems to me that any zoo or such would have taken it.

Bring on the icons, I am what I am.

Man's favorite past time, just had to kill it. I'll get iconed too but ask me if I give a sh!t, lol.
I hunt deer and turkey, their meat helps me survive this lovely economy. Besides I don't like beef anymore and much prefer venison. Seems to me no one NEEDED to kill that snake.

Well yes, I know that but where did it state that it would be eaten? I understand the danger but just irks me that (wo)man's first impulse is to kill it. I like snakes, no apology from me.

Bet they don't eat that one. That is her point. The moron stuck it in a freeze and he ain't saving the meat.
I still say they didn't have to kill it. It's wrong, all life is precious in my eyes.
Sorry, not being a stinker and I do see your point. If you kill to eat that's different, killing just to kill is another story.
(I could imagine the look on my face if I ran into that big boy)

7 years plus- the record is around 9'- had a friend sell one a few years ago that was that long and 15 years old- they live 38 years.
Note the article says it is considerably smaller now that it was frozen- oddly, none of my dead snakes ever shrank dramatically, so I'd take the size tongue in cheek.
The average 6' snake that people call me about locally is 2.5- 3 feet. The average snake that stretches from 'one side of the road to the other ' is between 5-6 feet. We got little bitty roads here.
