I am very proud of the school districts' handling of the entire situation. There are some bugs that need to be addressed, but when you have over 1000 lives in your hands they did a great job. I'm very disappointed in the attitude of some of our teenagers who treated this entire situation as a joke. Most were respectful and did what was needed but some were on their phones (not in their lockers) even after they were asked to stay off them. I wish teens would not consider themselves invincible.

Did anyone else notice a LOT of State boys in the area the past two days? Then last nite on my way home on M-21, an almont cop pulled in behind me as I passed Miller rd. What's he doing out here? Then he followed me down Breen til I got home. Were they doing surveillance on this guy for a couple of days, or is nothing related?

Well, I feel that the school's did their best. But, Teenagers, why should they not be able to be on their phone?!! My mother and I didn't know ANYTHING for over an hour. Had kids been able to call or do something (especially after school hours) the parents would have been able to do something quicker. The only reason I was out of school is because I can get out after my fourth hour, my little brother was on a bus from the middle school when all of this happened. He heard the gunshots, and quite frankly, he was over scared. He should have been able to call.

My son was in the bus garage with other middle schoolers. A friend let him use his cell phone, thank goodness, he was able to tell me I wasn't able to get into town, but he was OK. With phones in the bus garage not sure why they wouldn't let kids call home for reassurance one by one? I do think the school handled the situation the best that they could. Just a frightening day all around, hugged my son extra hard when he stepped off that bus! I'm sure in the coming months the school district will iron out any problems that there were and be much more prepared, if god forbid this type of tragedy should happen in our small community again. I know the churches should see extra people in the pews this weekend which is a good thing. God Bless Capac, and it's wonderful people that live here.
