There was some talk around town ahile back to do a fund raiser for a vest for Chief Hawks or for the next chief to take his place. The village does not pay for vests for the police chief, nor is there any requirement to wear one for this position. I know Chief Hawks had a vest of his own, but not the type that has armour all the way around so even if he had his on that day, his injuries would have been the same. There was no armour on the side panel where the bullet entered through his arm and into his chest. The type of vests that have armour all the way around are very expensive and hard to come by on the salary of small town cop. I would be happy to give towards a full vest for our next police chief. I think it a lot of people around here would be willing to donate a few bucks to protect our next Chief.

Really, they don't pay for it. Who told you this, did you check on it or are you going off what you heard

Saw Chief at the basketball game, it is so good to see him out there interacting with the kids. He is a great role model and he is still giving to the community even after his devastating injuries. That speaks volumes about the man. The kids love and respect him and so do the people here, regardless of the idots on the council. I don't think their parents taught them anything about character and doing the right thing. It is just sad those are the people running this town.

My apologies, I heard that you and Mr. adams expressed your displeasure over the way Chief Hawks was treated. You have our vote. Have you considered running for village president?

Have you considered running for village president? I right now dont have the experience to be village president! Maybe in the future if the people of capac want me to!! I feel bad still for the way chief hawks was treated by certain people on the counsel!! HE IS A HERO!!
