Advice for Police Chiefs: Evidence Should Be Gathered, Not Enjoyed

Nov 6, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: River Front Times

Yesterday, 27-year-old Dallas Hill -- police chief in the small town of New Athens, Illinois -- was charged with three felonies on the accusation that he snatched an iPod and iPad from the evidence room "for his own personal use" over the summer.

Local police are the worst criminals in our society.

If your ever on a jury don't believe anything local police say.

It's funny how people can call others a dirt bag! You don't know Hill and probably never will. Your just pissed because he's probably gave you a ticket or two. And besides that I read SN article that said someone higher up said that Hill could use the products for work. So quit your judging until you know what you'd talking about Mr.article on top!

I know the facts you idiot! Quit judging people when you don't know anything! Your probably one of those dope heads that didn't get away with it. So sad fir you because either way your ass will get cought. Hill will come back you watch! And when he dies I hope your the first to get a nice ticket from him. If you don't like our town help then get the hell out of Dodge!! We don't need people like you in our town anyway.

Local police departments have always failed to police themselves. The evidence against Hill is very clear and concert in nature. He left a trail.

If Hill's political supreme comrades told him to shoot himself in the head would he? Looks like a yes. Any police chief must understand the care evidence must receive.

Time to get a real job x-chief hill and a criminal defense attorney..

Dallas stole city stickers, sold pups that the police canine had (the dog is owned by the village not him), took bribes from known drug dealers, used cop car to run personal errands, and threatened village employees on a regular basis. Anyone who is halfway familiar with the way he has gone about his business knows that he is nothing but a cocky, power hungery, corrupt jackass who thought he was king and could get away with anything given his title. He has been charged with stealing an Ipod and Ipad, but those are just the initial charges and the ongoing investigation will only reveal more...

Tim is for sure no saint, but he's more than capable of handling the administrative bullshit thats tied into the chiefs position, given his history. We dont need an official chief until this spring right? i think it'd be best not to give ANY of the officers the title of "Chief" yet. If theirs an officer in front of the school when there should be and as a whole the dept keeps the drugs away from the descent people in town we're in good shape. Giving someone a title, in this town in paticular it seems, only creates a Napolean effect...

when i say there should be a cop in front of the school im not refering to an SRO, just whomevers on duty should just know that an important place to be at 7:55am and 3:16pm is right in front of the school. just the presence of a patrol car there is enough to make the jackass that flies around the short bus that parks by elementary door think twice. or any vehicle thats leaving the teachers parking lot (parents also use this lot to dropoff/pickup their kids) would drive a bit slower going thru the lanes with an occasional cop car parked by south guest entrance, inside this parking lot.
