i think the sentencing is ridiculous! 113 months for selling weed?? i know its illegal but i think that prison space could be used for more serious offenses.
(not to be confused with quick trip) but i was at "q-mart" ... in cahokia. i seen some scrubby white dude walking with some nappy headed black dude. well they got into the car and napppy head sold scrubby some crack right there in front of me not even caring who seen it. i would rather see these losers get 113 months than a marijuana dealer that sells five tons of herbs.
Green's codefendants were sentenced as follows: Javier Mendez, of Caseyville, 70 months; Rogelio Salaices, of Cahokia,113 months; Jose Antonio Salaices-Arenales, of Fairmont City, 37 months; Ruben Salaices-Arenales, of Fairmont City, 135 months; Christopher Salaices, of East St. Louis, 70 months; Chris Vital, of Fairmont City, 37 months; Arcadio R. Aburto, of O'Fallon, 87 months.
I know marijuana gets confiscated. I know some of it gets used to train K-9 dogs, but what do they do with the rest? I also know they burn it. But that much?!?

HELL YES! ALL DRUGS

We have to many of our young people in jail for using and selling small amounts of drugs. People are going to use drugs just like they drank during prohibition. This so called war on drugs is a joke. We need to use the BILLIONS of dollars spent on this so called war every year on education and treatment for those wanting to quit. Who has came out of prison a better person? No one. All prison does is make the person bitter and a real criminal. Yes, I have smoked cannabis in my younger days but now I prefer a cold beer or two. The cold beer that was illegal not so long ago.

Look at the St. Clair county NEWS.. this and a 2nd offender sex offender busted and was still on the streets and someone with a bunch of pot locked up for 131 months. a pot dealers gets almost 10 years and a child molester is on the street. things that make you say hmmmm?
<quoted text>
It's simple. All these guys were charged federal while the child molester was charged by the state. The ones charged federal were bringing nearly a TON of weed into the country, likely from Mexico. If you don't like the difference in sentences then complain to your state rep. It doesn't make sense to me either but that's the reality of our system.

Deno Green, 36, of 210 Edwards Place, pleaded guilty Friday and admitted that he was involved in a conspiracy that trafficked 1,760 pounds of marijuana in St. Clair County between 2005 and 2006.

Legalize pot? Possibly. No pot smoking at work.
Hell, I would be cracking up and the world will be a better place for me personally. I have written my best speeches after smoking a little.
Not into crack, cocaine or any of that other crap or pills.
