Elected leaders work to solve Geiger closure - Mon, 23 Apr 2012 PST
Just days after announcing the expected closing of Geiger Corrections Center, city and county leaders issued a joint news release today vowing to work together to solve the expected impacts on the county's jail system.

Either you are going to close the jail our your not. Playing with people lively hood is unfair. How can you work out a solution if the bottom line is that the county charges to much! Economically if the city can save money isn't that whats it about saving not only the city but the taxpayers as well.
I don't want anyone to lose their jobs but we have been discussing this issue for 15 years and you are still discussing it. As stated the information on closing Geiger really doesn't come to be a surprise as you stated you've been wanting to close the facility for six years wow!
