School bus strikes and kills student

An elementary school student was stuck and killed this morning by a school bus at Riverdale Elementary School in Courtland .

This is a sad shame, but I can't help but wonder--where were the adults who are supposed to help direct traffic and ensure students go where they need to go? My thoughts and prayers to the family, and I hope they use this as a lesson to look both ways before crossing the street and to teach your children to be cautious! Driving a school bus can be difficult, and its even more difficult to see around you to make sure there are no little ones.

I have a 4 year old, and I can only imagine how devistated the parents must be. My condolences to them. Rest in peace, little one.

I feel horrible for everybody effected by this including the bus driver. I cannot imagine the guilt he or she is feeling. What a sad way to start the year.

just make sure when you pray it's off of any Gov't property and it's not on HCS or NNPS property, including inside the bus. That is illegal.

It os political because it is the Law of Virginia. Prayer is not allowed in Public Schools. What most parents need to do is put their children in a Christian school or Private School.
As to 'Huh', YOU SAY you pray where you choose. I dare you to find any school in the area and request a prayer during a 'Moment of Silience' at that school. They will lock you up. There have been teachers to confiscate bibles in this area and JCC, YC, HPT Schools.

It isn't against the law to pray in school or anywhere else.
But it is against the law to push any type of religion on anyone else. If I allow you to teach my children your born again doctrine can I lead your children in a Wiccan ceremony? Of course they will need to be naked and it takes place at midnight, but it is very spiritual. And before you get your panties in a twist, there are many so called "pagan" relgions that have been around a lot longer than Christianity. Who knows maybe your is the cult?

Then we ban schools and have the Government set up manditory home schooling for everyone. Solves all problems with violence and child death.
