That has always been a problem with the city of Rohnert Park because of the way it was built. There is no center. Cotati was built around a hexagon or octogon shape Like Roman cities.

The best solution which you won't like is to make downtown Cotati which WAS planned properly, as the spirital center (metaphysical)center of town which it is anyway.
Just forget about saving the name Rohnert Park.

Keep separate goverments for Cotati and Cotati central .
Kind of like Sacramento Old Town and the rest of the spread out Sacramento city.

Rohnert Park has never liked Cotati because of its left leanings and because of the "Grove"

Bottom line..... Rohnert Park is RED and Cotati is BLUE.

The spreckles sugar family built Rohnert Park and I doubt they will EVER give in to Cotati. They WOULD try to buy it (Cotati) though.
Do your homework people.
Go to Fort Mason In san Francisco to the Fort Mason Library and see a model of the Spreckles family sugar boat, that is the boat that brought the sugar here from Hawaii.
Read that first.
That is if you really want to understand what is going on.

Sonoma County has seen an influx of economic development in 2012. I believe that 2013 will be a much better year. According to this article, Sonoma County now ranks first in job growth rate among the state's metro areas.

I live in Rohnert Park, and I am seeing new businesses open up, restaurants staying open, and people seem a bit more up beat.
