Red abalone die-off along the Sonoma Coast
Dead red abalone and sea stars are being reported on the Sonoma County coast as officials from the California Department of Fish and Game try to determine the cause of the die-off. The number of deaths is not known, but dead and dying abalone have been reported in Bodega Bay, Russian Gulch, Fort Ross, Timber Cove and Salt Point State Park.

We were out N. of Jenner today and there were hundreds of washed up ab on the shore line. This was a very abundant spot for diving and several months ago we were diving for beautiful abs. What is happening???? It is heart breaking to see all ages of rotting abalone without their shells washed up on the shore. This should be a big deal...wtf.
