Something should be checked out. I went to court was told one thing in court then the judge reveresed it in a back room. I was given a crazy schedule for seeing my children yet told this was the way it is and it could be alot worse the next time around. What kills me the most is my three kids suffer due to this crazy schedule and no one seems to really listen. The women who interviewed me before hand made the choices and it seems the judge just rubber stamped it. Perhaps this will give me the courage to try again, thanks whoever kept fighting for my children.

Now, THIS is about time. I can't tell you the number of people I know that have had horror stories about Marin family court - corruption, bribery, threats, payoffs, injustice... everything against the best interest of the most healthy in the family. Those who are pedophiles, drug addicts, cheaters and everything else have had better deals in family court. It is about time the place gets cleaned out. Let's get the freemasons out of office.

Finally victory. San Mateo Family Law is the worst. Hopefully the state legislators will do something about their system, too. I hope that Felix Berenberg (evaluator) reports will be audited. Good job and spread the joy all over CA family law.

We have the same problem in Cumbria U.K, and the majority of other U.K Counties. The state has been literally stealing children, for the purpose of Forced Adotion. illegal under Human Rights and a direct violation of Human Rights. I have been campaigning for Forced adoptions to be stopped, in the U.K to end what amounts to Corporate theft, bullying, and opressive practice, soley for the purpose of money generation for Corporate businesses, namely Police, Social Servics, CAFCASS, NSPCC, National Health Service, Probation Service, and Family Law Society. All making money, from falsly accusing parents of being unfit or abusers. All these professional??? Bodies, are actually using child protection agendas to generate income and career advancement. Immoral and Corrupt to the core, they steal our children to make money. Then our children go into care and are far more likely, statistically, to be abused there. My Cousins were buggered in Foster Care ages 9 and 11!!! The same SW who was responsible for this happening, worked on our case, in which the Local Authority falsly accused usof child abuse to cover their NHS neglect of the child, put us through eight months of family court, for us to prove we did not harm the baby, and to provide evidence from U.S Dr's who cared for our, extreemly low birth weight, premature Granddaughter who was born with and was still suffering from the effects of OOP Osteopeania of Prematurity. Left to the cherry picked Social Services Dr's we would certainly have lost our baby to Forced Adoption in the United Kingdom, Thanks to U.S Dr's, she is still with us.
The Damage, inflicted on our family, by corrupt U.K Family Court System is immeasureable, but with Gods help we are still bonded as a family and persue happiness. I have no doubt in my mind that these professionals?? are devious bejond belief, arrogant to the extreeem, and ruthless, money is all that counts to them, and they cant seem to get enough of it to protect innocent victims. Incompetent, all of them, for knowing there is a big humanitarian problem and doing nothing to change anything. Just keep collecting the pay cheque.
Evil, is the only word I have for them Pure Evil.

Thank God. And thanks to all of you who have worked so hard not to forget us and our children. We can only hope this sets a precedent for the rest of the country and the thousands of families who have been arbitrarily destroyed in the courts.

I can only hope this starts the long over due.(Were not talking library books either)!
In every state if i hadn't seen it for myself and others (especially mothers trying to protect there innocent children)! That this country would continue to even question someone trying to protect there kids!
The courts have made us feel like we have nothing better to do w/ our lives!
FOR Example:
If you try to run a way on the street from a bad guy w/ your kids.to seek shelter and protection. The natural instinct is to run to safety? What so different when its someone you thought knew?Your trying to find safety?
Why would you send a innocent child back to a abuser?
Come on America wake up and stop the cycle of abuse!
Shame on you Judges, courts and lawyers who support an abuser!
How can you sleep at night!
I don't now its your turn!

I just want to say this is wonderful news. I am a litigant suffering from the injustices of the legal system in Alameda County. I hope that our county will be audited soon. My family has lost everything financially and emotionally just for trusting the system to help us with some problems and unfortunately one mediators lies changed our lives for a very long time.

YES!!! Congrats to Mark Leno. I know the courts have had enough time to dispose of the evidence, but this is a start for investigations into all courts across the country. I hope it doesn't take as long.

I am very happy to hear of the audit. However, I hope that an impartial party will prepare the audit. The audit instrument should be very simple. It should be a basic q sort type of instrument meaning that the questions should be 1. Is this a contested custody case yes or no. 2. Are there allegations of domestic violence yes or no. 3. Are there allegations of child sexual abuse, physical abuse or neglect yes or no. 4. Mother has custody yes or no. 5 Father has custody yes or no. 5. Are there allegations against the custodial parent of items concerning items 2-5, yes or no. There should then be a statistical analysis done.

It could be very simply done by an impartial but professional party. These judges state that they are following the law, however, in family law the judge has a wide discretion to do what ever they are so inclined. The basic problem is that the women who know their children are being routinely abused are blamed to antipathy towards the abusive father. The father then gets custody because the judge wants to preserve their relationship with the abuser rather than demonstrate protection for the child.

It's time to ask the family court system, "What are you doing?

'Why the increase of murder suicides of fathers, mothers and children across this county?" Could keeping families in the family court system for 7 or 8 yrs and the stress and high cost of this be a contributing factor?

Why are families being treated as second class citizens, and being discriminated against in the family courts?

The law should not be subjective? We need reform to enhance accountability of the family court judicial process. Law should reflect reality.

I too have suffered from the Marin County legal system. The commisioner in our case decided that I could make $82,000 a year with only a HS diploma, and awarded a ridiculously low amount of support. At that time, I had not worked outside of the home for 11 years since I was taking care of our children. I had no problem with getting a job, but I would NEVER qualify for a job with that type of salary. These courts need to get cleaned up and have a reality check with the real world!! I hope this happens soon for the sake of all future litigants.
