The truth about the Petaluma Sheraton contract.

This article is a total sham. I work there. I sweat there. Most of us hate the union. The ones that like it believe the lies the union tells them. I have seen it. We received a cost of living increase. Everyone got that. It was not a raise based on performance or ability. You have to fight for a raise there. The retroactive pay is just about equal to what we are forced to pay the union. In other words, they kept our money all during the year and our management has to pay it back. Who wins on that one? Only the union. I could have used that money all year long. This whole union deal is a sham. In the second to last paragraph, the truth is the union gave the city a donation and somehow being a union house became a requirement of the $2.75 million tax payer loan.
Furthermore, I was told by an executive of the company a few days ago that we had 90 days prior to the signing of the contract to vote to keep the union or cut them loose. It should be known that every new employee has $100 taken out of their paycheck for union initiation fees. No choice.
NO one told us that! This whole deal stinks.
Shame on RIM, the Union and City Of Petaluma.

U R Right! All unions are against the american way of self determination, promotion and self advancement. This "collective bargaining " stuff is straight out of Karl Marx. We must be individually responsible for what we achieve. This means too that we must stop all the damn give aways for health for bums and socialist security for old fuddies and so-called disbaled who refuse to work and were too boneheaded to save for retirement. In 2016 we will get rid of all this crap once and for all and go back to the way things were when they were the way the should be under God's word. The tax thing will be corrected too. The so called poor need way more services than the bosses, and are always demanding police time, library toilets to stink up, free food, free medical care, free housing and then lounge around the parks eating our pets when we are at work. The upper classes demand way less and so should pay less, lord knows there are way fewer rich than poor so why should the few pay for the more? This is stupid. Stop everything and then start all over once we have deported all the smarty pants and funny sounding know it alls.

Unfortunately this article is far far from the truth. No employees were ever interviewd at the Sheraton. Very bad reporting by the Press Democrat. I wish they would not refer to us as "workers". We are a diverse group of individuals with various levels of education. Many, like myself, work part time and have our own business or a second full time job. This is about our Union- Unite Here Local 2850 out of Oakland whm is not really a union but a Political Action Group (PAC). They use us as a bank, collecting daily fees and up to a $100 worthless initiation fee.
