Commissioners Say Jail Construction Vote Doesn't Mean Fight Is Over
“They've already dumped X number of dollars into it and that's wasted money if they don't complete something”
The Governor wants to put all of the state's county jails under state rule. Instead of halting construction, commissioners are now looking to see if the jail could be used as a federal facility. via WLBZ

I am not sure what is wrong with the people that are diong the voting on this jail. First of all Why jump the gun and take on Federal Prisoners when you don't have enough room to house the inmates you have. Being a former prisoner of Somerset County Jail and a FEMALE. I know it costs all of us taxpayers over 100 dollars a day to house just us. This does not include the Male prisoners you have to ship to be housed because of lack of space. So instead of starting something you already cannot finish house what you can't before someone that really needs to be locked up breakes through the decrepid walls of the jail you already have.
