Absolutely a "must keep" program!

No, not a must keep program. More nanny government here. Let the dentist, parent, guardian, grandparent, etc., teach proper oral hygiene. It's not the job of the school or government to do this.

It is absolutely necessary. The staff provide a wonderful service, and are just great with the kids.

Not necessary. A luxury we can not afford. It's gotta go.

Does your "award winning staff" have dental benefits? Full benefits for their families as well?

Dental health is critical for so many reasons, and starting kids off with knowledge and a chance at great dental health is an awesome reason to keep this program. Sealants rock!

A great example of programs which have brought us to the mess we are in. Take personal responsibility.

Not only the kids but even adults also need to be educated regarding dental health , because it's adults who are not bothered about thier dental healths

The health risks from poor dental health end up costing more than it would to provide proper instruction early in life.

So parents don't need to teach their kids to brush and floss? Who's going to teach the kids to wipe their behinds. I think we should have a new program for that. Potty training is too hard for parents to have that responsibility.

I hardly think a parent that has poor dental health would understand the benefits of instructing their children.

Obviously you have some free time. Are you available to be a provider of butt wiping instruction? Do you collect SSI or are you regular welfare?

I'd love to teach the butt wiping class but I've never been taught properly by state funded program. We need the government to adopt a proper training course for teaching the butt wipe tecnique. I'll take that course, and I will then teach it in the schools. Since you support this program, maybe you can help raise awareness of its need. I bet Pampers would love to hear that parents will no longer teach how to use the toilet, they can make diapers for new born babies all the way through to kindergarteners.

I see I missed the 'h' in technique. No need to correct me.

Oh quit it! You and I both know you were being an a*s*s regarding the instruction of behind wiping, so get off it. Which social program are you on? SSI, CalWORKS, or individual?

My kids are teens and between the 2 there has only been one cavity. The dentist only cleans them once every six months. They brush before school and before they go to sleep everyday. More than half the time I have to tell them to brush before they go to sleep, because they're kids. Parents, parents, parents.

Wow! This was a sad surprise to read! I think that program is fantastic! It really did a great job teaching kids the basics about general dentistry and how to care for their own teeth. I hope they were able to figure out a way to keep the program going as strong as it has been.( http://robertsondental.com )
