This track will add at least one reason to come to granite falls. The Idea of this track being opposed is ludacris . This track will provide our ailing town with patrons and a good positive image. This will be something new. The sport/activity is a great family outlet.
With all this push for kids to get out from in front of the t.v and getting out to play, we should at least make motocross an option.
Look what Washougal has become because of their national circuit track, and then tell me that it might be a bad thing. The track will not compromise our small town image, but it will bring in more money.
Any opposition to this great idea would simply be an uneducated statement.

Look beyond the end of your drive way, Mark.
Honestly, Would you live next door to a National Motocross Racing facility?
Would you want your peace & quiet now filed with the buzz of hundreds of dirt bikes racing 7 days a week?
Can you sit back and watch the reputation of a national scenic byway destroyed?
Would you be a part of the destruction of over 400+ acres that is home to a variety of wildlife?
Would you be responsible for the extinction of threatened and endangered species?
Would you be responsible for lives lost due to increased traffic accidents along the Mountain Loop highway with the overload of traffic that this motocross project will bring in?
Would you explain to the children why our once fresh clean air is now polluted with 2-cycle exhaust fumes and the streams and creeks polluted with runoff from gasoline and oil seeping into the earth?
Would you stand by and let the property values of hundreds of homes plunge?
Can you explain why in a time we all are focused on cleaning up our earth and keeping it that way for our future generations, why our elected state and county representatives would agree to the construction of a project that is in no way shape or form,“Green” or eco friendly to our environment? Especially in an area that is the “Green Jewel” of Snohomish County for the people to explore and “get back” to nature.
I ask you these questions because we have been living at the foot of Green Mountain on the Mtn. Loop Highway east of the town of Granite Falls for the past 25 years, which is now currently one mile from the proposed Paul Thomas Motocross Racing facility. We have been asking these questions to ourselves also. Our answers are “No, we cannot support a project that is not environmentally friendly. Our families have enjoyed this natural wilderness for 6 generations. Therefore, you see we have a strong connection to the Mountain Loop after all, it has added chapters to our family history. We have worked hard building our “American Dream” along the Mountain Loop without harming the environment and have learnt to share the land with the deer and other wildlife, which graze daily in our meadows. We do not want to see our property values lowered because of the noise and pollution infiltrating our area from this Motocross Racing Park.
We have nothing against dirt bike riders or motocross racing and we agree there motocross does need a home. Just not on the Mountain Loop Highway in our back yard.
Please help us preserve for our future generations the pristine wilderness and natural beauty the Mountain Loop has to share. Let us not forget the quiet stillness of the forest when we sit with our children along the Mountain Loop and write our own chapters for our family history books.

Look beyond your misrepresented facts, Gayle.
Honestly, do you always make statments you cannot back up? I can understand you wouldn't want the noise to bother you, however how do you know you will hear it? How can you state the scenic byway will be destroyed by a motocross track? I guess you would prefer 300 houses piled in side by side creating traffic way beyond what one track would generate. How would we explain to our children that becasue of this track our air is polluted? Give me a break! Do you drive a vehicle? Maybe, just once in your epic battle to block something that will be a great way for families to enjoy time together, to keep kids out of trouble (I could go on) you should get your facts gathered. Today's 2 strokes (about 1 out of every 10 bikes are 2 strokes now) burn much cleaner and create almost no smoke. The bikes today are cleaner, quiter and almost all 4 strokes. But this is beside the point.
You ask how can you stand by and watch 400+ acres be destroyed...again, your facts are so far off. The complex will use about 75 of those OVER 400 acres. The existing 325+ are to remain for a buffer zone, yes so the noise is stopped well before it gets to your trailer.
You assume because there is a new complex there will be accidents. You must have an incredible gift to see the future. All your statements are based on your opinions and assumptions, no facts.
I would continue but am well aware it would be a useless excersize to try and educate you and anyone with your mindset.

Gayle, I'll wave on my way to the track.

Yeah a bike track would be great to have in granite!!!
there is not much to do in granite and i think it would be a GREAT oppurtunity. plus im looking for a place that is close to ride at... so this will be great
the noise may be a little issue... but other than that... no harm done... unless you want houses there
which i would personally think that it would ruin everything and make the "scenic byway" go away!
so a bike track would be awesome to have here in granite falls and in that area instead of houses... its just the perfect spot!

Build it! Who cares about the residents? Most are low lifes and drug dealers and adicts. Most of the area that would be surrounding the MX park are crappy trailer homes that aren't kept up anyway. Just something else to complain about before you die, misery loves company right? Granite is dirty and lazy. Maybe the income of an MX park would clean the place up a bit. An MX park wouldn't be that loud anyway. How many semis roll up and down that road every single day? And pollution? What doesn't pollute these days? As long as we burn fossile fuels there will be pollution. Talk about pollution with your condemned meth labs. I hate people these days.

Build the track!! No one important lives in granite falls anyway. Nothing goes on up there. Gary trode has worked his ass off trying to find goodo a track. Would you rather have 10 billion houses 5 feet apart infested with crazy people or a sweet ass track that you wont even hear?? Good Luck Strode!

Gayle, What gives you the idea that Granite falls residence should be protected from population growth? In my once quite neighborhood they are tearing down homes with nice lots and sticking 5 homes in its place with no place to park a second vehicle. We already have a traffic problem on all of our streets and a project to build over 200 homes in a beautiful forests beat all opposition and is underway! Motocross keeps kids out of trouble and families something to do together. We are all feeling the growth so leave us the hell alone and let us have our track!!

The track is a great idea, we need more tracks through out the seattle neighborhood. Theres enough trees and shelter to go around for any animals. Its a perfect Idea!

Gayle Stop being such a goody goody, would u like to have kids sitting around watching t.v or playing video games, even doing drugs!? all day. If the track gets built in Granite Falls, it would help kids dreams to come true of being a pro rider, atleast they would go out and play, plus Granite needs an attraction, instead Drugs. I say put the track in, and make granite a better place.

Tom, in your 7 word comment you have 2 spelling mistakes. Why don't you concentrate on your literacy instead of name calling?

I guess some people rather their kids doing meth and getting into trouble. I grew up in Granite and the peer influence, like most highschools is incredible. My little brothers who are in elementary, I would rather them be racing their dirtbike and accomplishing self will and integrity for themselves. Than getting bored because they hate school sports and getting depressed and turning to drugs and alcohol!
Another point to look at... is more visiters to Granite MEANS MORE MONEY TO GRANITE< NEW RODES, REMODELED STORES, and an all around better enviroment for our kids and familys.. PULL YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOU BUTTS and look at the good this would do, instead of focusing on the bad, like most humans do!

With Reiter pit closed in Gold bar and Sultan Basin as well the closest place around to ride is Walker Valley ORV. It is very crowded. I think building the track would be great for kids of all ages.

I dont know what part of Granite you visited,But I live within 5 miles and all the HOUSES in my neighborhood are $800,000 plus.Quite frankly Renton is a far dirtier town.I am an avid dirt bike rider and would LOVE to see a track nearby, but not if it brings people like you who disrespect my hometown. So from this day forward I will fight it.Thanks for making up my mind shane.

Dont Let them build the TRACK.I agree the town needs more business for its economy. And being a die hard dirt bike rider my whole life I would love to have the track nearby.BUT----listen to the posts on this site. These people DONT care about our town or our people. If this track comes in,so will those kind of people that dont care.THAT is what ruins everything.I am going to copy all these posts and circulate to all residents. The fight is on.You guys cut your own throats and others also.
