Your so right. That was such a STUPID remark.I heard that and I thought WHAT KIND OF A SHERIFF is this? Common sense tells you someone hurt her.Our town is in the hands of someone who can't disguise an accident from a crime.I only hope someone gets what they diserve.

Probably because he has to do a full investigation to protect Erica, himself, and his department, before he makes any comments on whether there was a crime or not, he will do his job though Guaranteed! He can't just go around making false statements until all of his facts are in order, from my understanding Erica was unable to speak with anyone about what happened at the time! Why dont everyone just stop the Gossip on this whole situation and pray that Erica and her family will be strong and get through these tough times.

Psalm 27:3,5,13-14
Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me,In this I will be confident. For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

I hope we DO have a sheriff who can't DISGUISE and accident from a crime. I think what you mean to say is "distinquish an accident from a crime".......as in tell the difference between an accident and a crime scene.

I think our Sheriff can handle that just fine...we all need to just keep our noses out of this and our mouths shut and let the law handle it.

I hope 'the law' is capable of handling it. My prayers are with them. If ever there was a case that needed to be 100% error free this is it.

I just spelled that wrong.I'm sorry.I'm glad you knew what I meant.I
really didn't mean to talk bad about our sheriff.I just know how I would have felt if I had been that girls family.I would have been real upset when he made that comment.I just hope that she recovers well and they find whoever is responsible.

The sheriff's department is doing the right thing by not letting this get out of hand in the media though, they don't want to let to many people in on what they know and what they don't know until they are ready to file their charges.

I don't really know Erica either, but she is the same age as one of my children and I have always thought she is so beautiful and could really make a name for herself if she wanted that. I don't know how to explain that without making it sound bad......I just think she could be a model or actress or something is what I mean....she is so pretty and seems so friendly.

I hope she recovers fully and the person or people who hurt her pay.

One reason the sheriff may have said that is because there is the possibility this was a party that went wrong. Some are saying she was not raped or beaten. She got the bruises and cuts from wandering in the woods for three days and nights. There is a lot of talk but the truth will be known when all the facts are uncovered.

You are right, she does need our prayers, but if it were my child, I would never call the sheriffs office, I would contact the FBI first.
