What are you trying to get us to believe?
You said " the money will go back toward the fair so it wont cost other businesses to advertise this year since money is so tight."
You make yourself out to be knowledgeable on this topic so what you just said is:
1 - Last year unknown business's paid for the Fairs Advertising.
2 - This year the County will pick up the bill for advertising for these business's.
So last year the advertising budget for the Smith County Fair was paid for by local business's and not the County.
You said : " all of the money to build the ag center was government grant and is not connected to the fair "
1- Have you been inside and seen there are at least 2 rooms paid for by banks not Government Grants.
2. Grants require either a amount of matching funds be used by the person applying or the reimbursement or repayment of the grant. There is nothing for free,
You said: " thats why its not called smith county fairgrounds.so as for anybody making out on this nobody did "
1- It's the Ag center, Horse Arena, Crump Paris,
Soccer field, Boat Ramp, Walking Track, kida playground.
2- Regardless of the name it is paid for and maintained by tax payers dollars not private enterprise.
3- If nobody made out that includes the County then why are we doing it during these financially troubled times.
4 - Which and/or what business are the taxpayers going to advertise this year?
5- Simone had to make money cause there are bills.
6- Was the staff or anyone working the fair paid?
7- Are the board members paid or are they donating their time?
you Said: "as for the money going toward other projects-may i remind you this is not county money. this is all fair money. no money was used from the county and didnt cost the taxpayers anything. people have a choice to go to the county fair. jus like anywhere else"
1- Who or what is the fair?
2- Is it a non profit organization?
3- If it is a separate entity and not affiliated with the County then why are there a tremendous amount of County Employee's on the board and working the fair.
4- Did these County employees receive salaries?
5 - Were they being paid either by the County or this so called private enterprise?
6- If it is not affiliated with the County then how much was paid as rent to the county and how much was reimbursed to the County for use of County Employee's.
7- I was led to believe that the insurance coverage for the event was paid for by the County, if so then was it reimbursed?
I think it's great to have fun and a place for the family's of Smith County to go to but not be a burden on taxpayers as this whole thing is.
Why don't you post the expenses and distribution of monies, or at least the location of records so that citizens can come and get the facts for themselves. You don't want to see that do you?
