1 I'm whittled down to a nub, can't you tell? When I first came here I knew not what things were all about, and know little even now after thirty years at it, as each new day presents a new issue, sometimes a new door opens up which leads to the dungeons and the pits, some level off into a plain which is tolerable. I like those best, as you can tell. Hard to keep a smile on the ole face, but I just keep on digging trying to figure out the next best move and the direction to take. Now, let me tell you boys, you will never outdo these folks when they have the facts on their side and the stamina, as in 'holding power', just to aggravate the very devil out of you when you give them a chance, and Lord knows I've let my bar down several times when I thought they weren't looking. Needless to say, though, they are the very best - these folks who are looking for transparency and open government - at finding what we thought had been salted down never again to raise its head. I heard research had been donw on that long protracted lawsuit, appealed once or twice and almost appealed again, between Henry Ogle and myself. I wanted to not draw attention to the fact that I instituted that case back in my hay-day when I was a young squirt, as I didn't care about what might be the cost to the county. I'm strong on the argument that lawsuits cost the county, so, I try to cover up as many of those in federal court, especially, that I can; not to mention those pending in the state courts. Our befrazzled attorney - bless her heart - is torn from pillar to post trying to cover us, but, we can't even cover our own azzes much less she do it! It seems, from what I hear this past week that the federal judge is ordering these cases to move forward which she has 'stayed' giving us some time to bust their nuts and wear them down to a nubben, best way to get these folks in the mood to settles and our percentage of cases settled is right on! You have all those spectators when you try a case and we don't want that; when settling 'em, the details may surface at some point, but, usually it takes a little while as there are so many of them that one searching can't be in all places at the same time. You are about to begin to find out how I operate, finally. Looks like I'm coming to the end of my political career, as they say that time comes for all at some point. The next few months will be decision time for me. So, if any of you are trying to 'explain me', I've laid the groundwork for you to step in and do the job.......I'm not too complicated any way you look at me, why, I'm surprised that you thought I had any gump any part of the time. Toodle-lou, see you! |
