THe Mountain Mess was kind enough to print the list of those crooked officials who should be voted out of office:

In addition to the following list, Mayor Waters and Ron Hoss Seals should be voted out of office too!

Warren Hurst, private road inspector — executive’s office (incumbent Seat 1A)

Tommy Watts, Sheriff’s Department (challenger Seat 1B)

Phil King, Sheriff’s Department animal control (incumbent Seat 2B)

Charles “Tommy” McGaha, school system teacher (incumbent Seat 3A)

Carroll Rauhuff, Highway Department foreman (incumbent Seat 4B)

Fred Atchley, Sheriff’s Department fire marshal (incumbent Seat 5B)

Greg Haggard, school system assistant principal (challenger Seat 6A)

Ronnie Allen, Highway Department (incumbent Seat 7A)

Tim Hurst, Sheriff’s Department (challenger Seat 7B)

Duane Dodgen, assistant maintenance supervisor (challenger Seat 7B)

Jim Keener, school system Transportation Department (incumbent Seat 10B)

James Dykes, county facilities maintenance (challenger Seat 10B)

Gary Cole, Sheriff’s Department reserve deputy (incumbent Seat 11A).

Additionally, incumbents Tony Proffitt, David “Buster” Norton and Judy Godfrey also drew county salaries, but are now retired.

You want term limits? First, vote this bunch of crooks out! Then elect people that are for term limits and honest goverment. That might work.

When did Judy Godfrey retire, since the Hatch Act was filed?

Same question about David Norton, he was working in February 2010!

We would like confirmation on Proffitt's retirement, rumored that he has, when?

We will await seeing thsoe bids on contracts and record of work done by our Commissioner Woods - new jail, John L. Marshall Technology Park, Sevier County Schools - guess that will work its way through the system, in time.

Glad Stan is looking into a few of these things, these days!

Today’s Mountain Press quotes County Commissioner Gene Byrd as saying he wants Nepotism and limitation policies put in place in Sevier County. Well one should wonder if this means he plans on giving up his commissioner set or is this his way of getting his Stepson who works for the Sheriff’s Department fired?

I haven't been in this area for very long compared to most but it seems very odd for a mayor to be in office for 32 years...even if he is a county mayor. There's something very wrong with that.

It is called, "voice of the people". The people vote for whom they want, ie: Mayor Waters, etc...

Some folks just can't comprehend, in this county, we do and will continue to, vote for the "candidate" we chose. If it aint' broken, don't fix it. Get used to it, that is how it has worked for decades. Just a few "peeps" moved into the area and want to change it, too bad you're out numbered,'cause.....we like it just like it is and that is how it will STAY!

Some people don't have enough sense to realize when their officials are crooked. Having a director of schools who bought his diploma from a diploma mill adds the the stupidity of the local Sevier County educated populace.

It's broken! Deal with it. Better yet, do something about it!

Vote out all incumbents! If the words "re-elect" appear on any of their literature, vote for someone else. Maybe someday, the entire knowledge base of the minimum wage workers of Sevier county will rise a point or two!

Than again, maybe it won't!

My opinion of some of our county officials could be better if offices were filled by another, in some instances - as a group, few complaints I have.

Waters has tried to swing on the coat tails of some other officials and make it appear the complaints and problems verbalized with him and about him related to other officials - sorry excuse of a politican move and it hasn't worked!
Note that few have opposition - he has!

I am sure other officials cooperate with him for the sake of 'getting along' where if truth was known they are losing respect for him each time he makes his moves.

I'm making a ballot for Leonard Waring to represents the Fourth District and Sevier County.
No doubt he will do a great job, but it will be a learning process whereby he will have difficulty putting his business experience and expertise to work as he will, I'm afraid, be locked out without the help of other newcomers with like mind.

with a stroke of luck the incumbents will be replaced by a great number, sufficient to pass the Rule!

I don't think too highly of them. Crooked thieves who hide behind the mask of Christianity and public prayer while breaking the law; stealing from the poorest and least equiped to provide for themselves.

They should all be ashamed of themselves, repent and prepare for an eternity of ass reaming by satan and his cohorts!

Larry Waters will lead the circle jerk session in his usual liquour breathed manor.

As a concerned and caring citizens of Sevier County, I propose to a qualified person, an opportunity to rise to the task which would be meaningful to all residents and citizens of Sevier County.

This concern entails the need of the services of a qualified, discerning accounting forensic detective-type person capable of reading, digesting and explaining the county audits.

I think there is a person out there somewhere who qualified and cares enough to offer their services to me and others of concern. Would you step up to this task and post a reply on this forum, if interested?

Lexus and I were discussing this solicitation.

It appears there may be some suspicions there are hidden in the audits some questionable practices, is that right? Would you be more suspect (if stealing was going on in your county) that it is through the grants, swaps & bonds, I would suggest that!?

When there is a deliberte design by method of obtaining these funds, servicing these funds and accounting for such funds it would appear there are several loopholes or avenues by which a determined person can beat the system, especially over a huge number of years. An expert is needed to assist you, and, I hope one steps up to this occasion. Will watch to see what happens there.
