Local Aldermen need to think hard about creating a safe entrance and exit zone for the children of the new school at Catlettsburg, on and off Hwy 66. This would be the best money spent, instead of throwing money away on the failed Dumplin Creek project. I see the developer asking for $8.5 million for road work one day and the next playing the "if you do not agree at once, Walmart will pull out" card the next day. And all these large companies showing interest? Name them! Last reported by the national media is that companies are still closing stores and malls nationwide. Unemployed numbers are still climbing and layoffs continue from all directions. We may be a small time county town, but we can read the news off the internet, television, and national papers. Heard of MSNBC market reports? On Tuesday a local guest in the commentary section reported the Best Western has been torn down to make way for the entrance to the project. The fact is the roof has been removed for a local farmer and another gentleman took the doors and windows. Otherwise the motel is still standing. I wonder if commentator is either a investor in this project or has ties to the project we, the public, are not aware of? If our local leaders want to spend money we don't have, at least invest in our children's safety. Did we not just increase our tax rate to benefit our schools? I understand local sales revenue is down double digits this year so far (talk to the local vender's for the facts, not the local "It will be better next month " elected mouthpieces. And yesterdays election polls reflect 85 to 90% of Americans believe next year will be worst for the economy. We must as a community send a clear message to our elected officials. Either stop gambling with our tax money or prepare to be removed from office next election. Catlettsburg school roads first, Dumplin Creek when betting on the economy is a sure thing. ' ' '

Tennessee in 17th consecutive month of revenue declines..... OAK RIDGE - The state is on the verge of its 17th consecutive month of revenue declines in an unprecedented economic downturn, Tennessee's deputy governor said Tuesday. And the worse news is there's no end in sight, John Morgan said. "We've never been in a fiscal situation anything like we have today," he told members of the Oak Ridge League of Women Voters. Any bright spot in the current economic picture is only temporary and comes from federal stimulus funds, the former state comptroller said. Morgan's remarks came the day after Gov. Phil Bredesen lamented to reporters that the stimulus money has in effect concealed the extent of the state's fiscal crisis. The state's more than $5 billion share of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 money - spread out over two years - has created or preserved more than 9,000 jobs so far, Morgan said. Some $600 million in stimulus money has largely helped offset 12 percent budget cuts in state departments that were enacted this fiscal year, Morgan said. "Over time these (stimulus) dollars will be used for very, very important things, and the economy will be better for it," Morgan predicted. But with those one-time stimulus funds expiring soon, state agencies are being asked to plan next fiscal year for another 6 to 9 percent in cuts on top of the current reductions, he said. Morgan predicted that some state programs would likely be axed in the next round of budget cutting. "Some real fundamental choices will have to be made about what state government looks like," Morgan said. Tennessee's revenue stream depends mainly on sales tax, and residents are in a belt-tightening mood, he said. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2009/nov/04/no-e...

You have no one to blame but your stupid friggin selves. You just can't fix stupid.......((0!o))........ This is a problem that is affecting the nation as a whole. This is not one of your local elections you like to curse and throw mud at. You are amusing at best. Many of us try to have serious discussions and you tend to rear your head and show your IQ for all to see. Your are correct on one fact. "You can not fix stupid". It seems you are the poster child for this saying you like to use so freely.

Krystal King has been off his meds for a while. He got upset when the manager at Krystals told him to get out and never come back last week. Seems someone on the forum pointed him out and showed what he had been up to using the Wifi. Now he parks behind the bldg. From molesting his own kid to getting run out of fast food. No wonder he rants.

No, but we can email your peralinks to the moderator, to show why ALL your post should be removed or blocked. Maybe they might even pay special attention to Sevier County Topix for a while just to keep you cleaned off under any other alias you have....

I see the several of the "Kings" postings were removed last night. Maybe Topix will clean up the rest of his trash. But you have to admit, he is funny.

Is this the same Krystal King that was molesting his own son and daughter? One of them older stories here is that his son turned into a drug addict and his daughter married a cop to get away from daddy!

Sorry, got off topic. The topic is the roads for our local school. Lets not let one old man with a mental problem get us off track. Let Topix handle him. I agree several of his rants have been removed.

Liberal, Stupid and Homosexual the Sevier County Winning Combination. you know if you don't like the area leave no one is stopping you... and in my view if it wasn't for dolly and the homosexuals ( over 1/2 of the performers in the shows are gay or bi)the economy would be worse in this area but they bring in the tourist and the tourist bring in the money... and that is a fact so again if you don't like the area just move were not stopping you...
