They have to dodge people who walk out in front of vehicles and do not care (hit me attitude), loose animals, bullets, cars that have drivers on drugs and those with no driver license and insurance. Then we have the cars that park in the middle of the street with drivers talking, snow and ice and the elements daily. If that is not enough, they have to deal with Juvenal delinquent city passengers daily.
You need lots of skills for this job in the hood.

They (bus drivers) do deal with a lot. It's hard to avoid an accident when "they" walk in front of a car, let alone with a commercial vehicle full of people. Then there are the taxi drivers to contend with

RTS bus drivers are some of the best in the world. I rode the #6 the other day and had a very friendly driver who was both drove very carefully, safely, but still fast and efficient. He followed all the rules of the road, spoke to his passengers in a professional manner and really made sure everyone's ride home was an enjoyable one.

Because of experiences like this on the City of Rochester's public transportation system, I will be not only continuing, but increasing my patronage as an RTS customer.
