ISP arrests Austin bar owner for alleged illegal gaming

The owner of an Austin bar was arrested Tuesday for allegedly hosting illegal card games at his business, police say. via The News Tribune

I heard the players were let go. Not sure of the legalities, in this situation, but if it is illegal, they will just go to another establishment to gamble. For the last 45yrs and probably longer, gambling has been going on in the back rooms of pool halls and resturants. I applaud the police dept. for raiding these places. Does the new mayor of Austin have anything to do with these, or is the state getting involved more with the local police. Good job to all who participated in this. My opinion, keep after these people and let them get out and do real work for money
