A local NY state Republican official is drawing criticism for online statements about gay people attributed to him, opening a new front in a local Senate primary fight that turns in part on the legalization of same-sex marriage.
"Anybody who knows me knows I would never say anything along those lines [the anti Semitic line about 'Christ killers' specifically]."
This line usually translates as, "anybody who know me knows I would lie about ever having said anything along those lines."
The good news here is that he's been homophobic and apparently anti Semitic for years, so this cannot be read directly as a backlash against the marriage equality in NY.
