I dislike when people think themselves morally above others, it's so disturbingly egotistic.
this angry lady want the world as it was 70 years ago full of people like her, how wonderful for her types.
we know the homeless came in all size and colors, what I know for a fact is than many many many people and organization try to help them in regular basis, but the situation persist due to deeper personal factors, the homeless person not always being able to willingly change his/her life makes it hard for people who want to live healthier lives to share the space in this small town.
an small change in life style at least to a basic self maintenance level will be nice on the tax payers, or what about starting by helping in the ocean cleaning campaigns, this won't kill them.
as long as they help too, they can became part of the solution.
the problem is that in this town there are too many self righteous overly political people always trying hard to change the world to their level, people uninterested in beauty in disenchanted in life.
how can people who work everyday of their lives who pay their taxes in time leave santa cruz as she demands just because they
get fed-up with the never ending situation.
she must be one of these socialist who's angry at the achievement of others, did little in her life, and now this is her way of self flagellating herself and others.

"If you don't like the homeless, leave".

Excuse me, but whatever happened to the rights of the productive, employed, law abiding taxpayer?

Why can't I walk down the street anywhere near downtown, without getting accosted by parasites that demand money, drugs, cigarettes,(I don't smoke anything)? Just because I'm wearing a clean shirt, doesn't make me a source of revenue for every lowlife loser that managed to hitch hike a ride here.

I have been screamed at, spit at, cursed out, and challenged to a fight, for my refusal to give away my hard-earned pay.

I had one able-bodied punk come into a restaurant and decide he was entitled to take my 9-year old son's pizza slice, while I was in the men's room.(He didn't see me, the 6-2 and 220 lbs. of Dad until it was too late!)

I had a 20-something miscreant from a with an $800 mountain bike(he was sitting 10 feet from a "help wanted" sign) call me a "Cheap Motherf*%#er" because i ignored his demands for money.

I find it frightening when vagrants harass me in public, and I'm a full grown man. I'm sure it's even more disturbing and intimidating for a woman, or elderly person, who is not as able to defend themself.

Why am I not allowed to use the sidewalks and public spaces that my taxes pay for?

Now WHO is it that needs to "leave"???????

YOU, DBS, are the oppressor! By being hard working, law abiding and tax paying, you've turned lazy, unmotivated and irresponsible people to drugs, crime and other anti-social behaviors. It is all YOUR fault and YOU should pay for it. Even though they contribute nothing to the quality of life, other than to make it worse, THEY are still worth two of YOU! It's your duty to support them. Quit sniveling and pry open your wallet.
