My daughter had a crush on this boy freshman yr of high school. She said he had a nice smile and was funny. The teacher likes him. That is all she can remember, except that he partied a lot.

I grew up with him since middle school, he used to take my cowboy hat off my head. i had no friends in high school, and the little bit of attention he gave me brightened my day. he was a gorgeous kid and i'm devastated for all his family and friends.

This is such a tragedy - I have a son that was in the same class as Brett and greg - we try and tell them how dangerous it is to drive after partying maybe some way it will get through before more tragedies happen,

Greg is still in the ICU but the bleeding in his brain is slowing down and he moved the right side of his body. He is not responding to speech yet but it appears he is starting to get a little better. No one knows for sure yet.

I am Greg's sister. He is in critical conditions. His left leg is badly broken, and there is some bleeding in his head. The amount is not a lot and is not growing. Today he moved his right arm and leg for comfort which is extremely amazing. His left hand has not moved, but his left thumb will sometimes twitch. We have much hope for my brother and are thankful for all the support. We are so lucky he is alive, but his recovery will take a months. They do not know how well he will recover or if he will survive, but one of his many doctor's told us we had reason to be optimistic. Currently only family can visit him, and we are here at all times. Thank you for you concern.

My Dad just informed me that in his generation, Ted Studebaker was the first to pass. Brett is the first Studebaker cousin to pass in my generation.
So very sad.
Everyone affected by this tragedy is in my thoughts and has all my sympathy.

Don't drink alcohol and drive!! Hopefully, many of you will take this tragedy as a learning moment and not repeat it.

alcohol was not the definitive cause of the accident. it was possibley hydroplaning. dont judge him just because hes a teenager

It is not a question of judging anybody. Don't ever ever ever drink and drive.

From NHTSA:

"It is necessary to emphasize that none of the tabulations presented can be interpreted as implying a direct causal relationship between alcohol use and any other attribute of fatal crashes. Inferences concerning causality can only be made on the basis of additional data that is independent of the FARS data"

Most traffic fatalities have no alcohol relationship a-tall.

They have not released the police report which would have their tox screens, but they were at a party for a person turning 21 earlier that evening. They have told us that they did not hydroplane.

A 21 year old wouldn't know if they hydroplaned or not. That information would come from the car's "black box" if the negligent police didn't screw up the download of that information.
