I agree strongly with your perseption of Sgt. Robert Perez. He did nothing wrong! He did do everything right! As far as the other people involved in the investigation, they used excuses to retire before they had planned to retire running from their responsibilities in the case. Just another cover up by the administration at the city of Farmington and FPD.

Sgt Perez was made an example of what not to do the City Manager and PD Admin and that was to bring heat towards them. What really needed to be looked into was the actions and players who dismissed the original charges against Mayes' sonm John, which led to the tragic death of Dr Nordtrom. Why the obstruction of the Gallegos suspicious death by Westall and McPheeters was taken more seriously but then again allegations of misconduct by upper echelon never is.

How about the missing guns and drugs Chief? You know nothing of which was documented in accordance with dept policy.

How about the promotions of personnell who have been dead to rights involving DV, utilize department laptop to view porn, and inappropriate text messages to a female HS student while serving as an SRO. With the conduct of them how were they fitting of promotion to Corporal?

How about McPheeters directing shifts to defraud the feds out of funding by inflating UCR numbers?

How about Hardys history of theft from the PD for his own gain by misappropriating dept ammo?

How about your failure to accomplish a Use Of Force Report in accordance with dept and CALEA standards which ultimately led to a tort claim filed by Soto?

How about your inaction to discipline ODonnell for his multiple deeds of misconduct?

And what about Robs little perversion out on the high seas known as Navajo Lake?

Yep a real ethical bunch the are.

There definitely needs to be a claening house of the top tier of the PD in the ranks of Lt on up. Three of the top three are as crooked as the Mississippi. Mitchell was advised of missing narcotics from the evidence room while the Lt overseeing Internal Affairs insteading of advising former Chief Runnels he advised Westall. Westall directed Mitchell to advise the reporting officer to cancel the report and to document the missing narcotics via memo. Which is a direct violation of departmental policy. I wonder what else was/is missing out of evidence since that incident.

Westall directs Mitchell, who he promoted to Capt, to conduct an IA on Perez in which he ultimately sustains multiple Code of Conduct violations on Perez which ultimately led to his dismissal.

Its kind of funny that Westall and Mitchell are tied to missing drugs in the evidence fiasco but are not investigated especially since Mitchells name was brought up in a well known scandal involving two other agencies. Westall has known about missing departmental firearms and repeatedly covered those up even when it was brought to his attention by ODonnell who he ultimately promoted to Seregeant. Westall let Odonnell retain his rank, much less employment, even when he was not absolved of sexual assault. I guess since its Sexual Assault Awareness Month we will see ODonnell quoted in the paper much like he was for the Polar Plunge to gain some positive press prior to his return to the street.

And the we have McPheeters who directed shifts to pad UCR numbers to obtain additional funds from the feds. Who has no credibility with in the judicial system within the county. Is a joke amongst his peers. Another association McPheeters and Westall obstructing a potential homicide investigation.

Dont take much to figure out what and who needs to be changed or indicted.

Look at the city council, you have an ex cop with no evidence of education, a mayor who benefits from his wife's money and other council members asociated with adding to their pockets - who will say anything? Not that rag of a newspaper. Look at the last mayor between him and the other high school dropout darnell how can one even take that city serious. Let's not forget Mayes and his son's. Until the citizens confort all involved there will continue to be graft and idiots will elected - really does one think in a real democracy that someone like darnell, roberts and others would be elected and then hire someone like mayes and that corrupt police dept. or fire dept. You all deserve what you get!

I used to buy my pot directly from a policeman in the "70"ies, he would take it away from people and keep it.

Nothing new here now.
