Having read most of these ignorant comments we send sincere condolences to the extended family of the late Jeremy Lum in their time of sorrow.
Would everyone out there please reserve judgment and respect the Lum Family loss of their beloved son, grandson, brother, cousin, Uncle and to the community at large a dear friend.
Until you have walked in his shoes (Jeremy) do not be so quick to judge him. The truth will be found about this tragic event, we leave this to the stings of your conscience.
We have not met but would liked to have known Jeremy. We read he was a Berkley Graduate, need we say more? Rest in peace Jeremy.
Mr.& Mrs. Palsgraaf with deepest sympathy

I just found out about this tradgedy.I am truly sorry that jeremy is gone. Jeremy was a very gifted young man. I had the honor of knowing him at least for a brief time as his gymnastics coach when he was a young boy, and although that was over ten years ago it sadens me like it was only yesterday. I understand what it is like to be bi-polor and how the meds change you.My expirence has been that you have to try at least five or more different prosciptions before you find one that works without hampering your personality too much. I also know that county jail will not give you shoes if you are barefoot or inform next of kin uponyour release. A simulare expirence happend to me there after I had taken muscle relaxers(proscibed by my doctor)for my back and had an anadverce reaction which caused my neighbor to call the police. What suprises me though is, why did they take him to countyjail when stockton has a puff ward designed exactly for such acurances?

We are living the nightmare of every family dealing with mental illness. How does someone who tells law enforcement that he is bipolar and on medication, like Jeremy did, spend 7 hrs. in jail without medical help? Obviously, the system failed Jeremy Lum and 5 months later, the system still isn't fixed. Another tragedy like ours is just waiting to happen.
We know Jeremy had something to give this world. We just didn't know it would be so soon. JUSTICE FOR JEREMY is our Facebook group. Please check it out. Comments such as yours is what keeps our mission for change alive. Thank you.

We are well into the New Year 2010. We hope and pray there has been changes made at the Lathrop Police Department they must be held accountable! This senseless tragedy to the Lum Family should not have happened. Families living in Lathrop should feel protected by their Law Enforcement. NOT lose their loved ones through their negligence.

Rest In Peace Jeremy.

It's now almost 9 months later since losing Jeremy so senselessly and needlessly. The Lathrop Police Chief who allowed this to happen has been removed and another arresting Sgt. has been rotated back into the county. This is NOT ENOUGH!!! Simply removing a cancerous tumor, without further treatment, isn't enough to get rid of cancer.
Aubrey Eddi Palsgraaf...thank you so much for your thoughts and support. We are not giving up our mission to bring awareness and positive change for those living with mental disorders. Our website www.justiceforjeremy.org has been established and is under construction. Our JUSTICE FOR JEREMY Facebook group has surpassed 1,300 members and continues to grow daily! Events to pay tribute to Jeremy's 30th birthday and to mark the one year anniversary of his tragedy are underway. Thank you all for your support!!! JUSTICE FOR JEREMY IS JUSTICE FOR ALL.
