Nice to see ... just a shame that it took yet another OUTSIDE agency to initiate this action. The TPD already knows who and where these types of activities occur, but look the other way 95% of the time in order to prevent "political repercussions". Just ask around to any long term resident, and they will tell you where and who is dealing and more, like the 'projects' near the Community Center. Go by there yourselves on any decent weather day and take a slow 'cruise' yourself, depending on who you are, you will get walk-up, curb service and won't even have to leave the comfort and security of your vehicle it is so bad and obvious, yet many have dealt from there for YEARS. IF they really wanted a 'clean city' it would be with true community support from "neighborhood watch" groups made up by US, the citizens who have far more eyes than they do and are living among the 'trash' only to be left smelling the stink of it, but then some of the supplemental income would go away too for quite a few in places of power no one wants to 'talk about', but know about and allow with both apathy and the ancient attitude of "I don't want to get involved". I think Steve Jones is trying, but without them showing a true and, God forbid, honest effort to literally go after the 'big boys' in our city and county it is just business as usual shown by the low bonds and quick releases. To answer the already brewing question in your minds, he can go into the county very easily by using the 'inter-agency cooperation' already in existence between his dept and the TCSD IF they choose to. He likes his big meals, so he naturally is VERY reluctant to bite the hand that feeds him by busting some of the descendants of some of the old 'rooted' families in our area who are the financiers and drug-lords that keep the cycle going. It sure does NOT help a bit when you have judges that slap almost petty bonds couples with a D.A.('dealin' Dean) who is also somewhat complicit with his lack of interest and aggressiveness for basically the same reasons. His ADA left the Walker county DA's office to run for Joe Ned's job in 2012 by trying to establish himself here for the race. So far .. not a very impressive performance and until Joe Ned lets him 'loose' from the noose of domination and control, we really can not accurately gauge if he will be much if any different. I have met and spoken with him once and it was not intentional on his part, LOL. As with most politicians today, the TRUTH seemed to only repulse him, so it was not a very impressive first impression either. Just his reason for moving out of Walker county back to here was pretty lame, but necessary to establish both himself and residency for the 2012 race and would have made a much better answer than the one he attempted to get me to believe since it would have been a bit more on target as the truth. Unfortunately, politicians know that the truth bites and bums people out, so they try to sell a fantasy to get the 'feel good' vote which does work, look at who is in the WH today. He got there by selling a 'fell good' fantasy and he got his fantasy fulfilled as WE the People are literally paying for in more ways than most can even fathom.

So, as long as we sit back, keep our eyes, ears and mouths shut, it is the SILENCE that permits this vermin to literally THRIVE and multiply here giving the name of TRINTY an almost demonic reputation as just a sick and ironic deception by using a Holy name to conceal yet more Evil's.

Fortunately I was NOT raised here and not programmed that way. ANYONE who truly knows me will be the first to affirm that I don't play favorites simply because those favorites often end up playing you .. for a fool or worse in the end. There is a reason Const. Woody Wallace tells people I am too "hardcore", imagine that from "Mr. Law-enforcer" himself, ROFLMAO ... I don't believe in letting people off in exchange for political support, esp if driving drunk! To me that is tantamount to 'influence peddling' and I have told him so! So we had to agree to disagree on that one as the cycle continues.

If you bothered to read the article in question, you would have seen that the TPD "initiated" the action, and that they "borrowed" an SRT team from San Jacinto County to assist them, due to the numerous past instances of gun play at that residence.

The San Jacinto County SRT team had nothing to do with any part of the case save for being asked by TPD to come help due to their special training.

In other words, your post was, as Shakespeare said, full of sound and fury, but signifying nothing.

ROFLMAO@your ignorance of the real me ... like too many, you have obviously fallen into the dark-gossip 'cliche' somewhere, I don't have time to bother with your issues simply because they are YOUR problems and NOT mine ;)

I am glad to announce that we WILL be forming a M.A.D.D.(Mothers AGAINST DRUNK Driving) office for Trinity county as a result of over two years of getting the RIGHT people together on-board such as Pct. 1 J.P. Randy Barrett and is just a small part of my own and personal law-enforcement "support initiative". I reserve my energies to legitimate and REAL law-enforcers though, not those who only masquerade as such, I have helped way too many over almost 35 yrs not to be able to tell the difference. So, spread your venom if you must because in the end, that is all it is .. take care, God bless and may you have a GREAT weekend as the weather warms up :)

One of the things "wrong" with it is "distracted" driving which is what we are also trying to get the singular-minded 'D for drunk' perception changed from to include ALL types of "distracted" driving such as texting for example. Another major thing wrong with it is plain old "impairment" with then steps it up to outright "dangerous" driving, hence the term and charge of "driving under the influence" (DUI). That INCLUDES prescription and "over-the-counter" (OTC) meds too!!

What I'm confused about in the article was that it mentioned a suspect was fleeing from Jones and threw a bag of Marijuana out of his pocket according to Jones, but the bag was never recovered. The suspect was charged with tampering of evidence, only there obviously isn't any evidence if they couldn't recover anything. Just the officer's word stands nowadays for charges filed? Can they do this? Interesting... I'd hire a good lawyer.

It's Trinity and they are the law. They will do what they want and the reason why it wasn't recovered was for personal use.

While I will grant that the Polk County Publishing Company doesn't exactly make it easy to read these articles (Maybe they could throw us a paragraph every now and then?)....it almost seems like we might have read an entirely different article. Is your information from an article other than the one posted above?

(1) The one I read never mentions the bag of marijuana not being recovered.

(2) The guy with the pot was not charged with tampering with evidence....that was the 61 year old woman who they found inside the house ATTEMPTING to flush some prescription pills down the toilet. Ironically, if she hadn't tried to flush the pills she would have only been charged with a misdemeanor possession instead of the felony tampering with evidence......unless of course she was indeed successful in getting rid some other stuff already and was only caught with the prescription pills. Another example of the cover-up being worse than the crime.

Lots of folks complain about TPD not doing anything about the drug problem.....and then when they do, here comes someone calling for them to be sued without any evidence that they should be sued....and another accusing them of taking the evidence so they can use it to get high themselves.

I don't get it. They successfully put a 9mm-toting crack-dealer out of business. Maybe a "Good job, guys" would be more appropriate?
