In it, www.examiner.com reports that:As the debate on immigration continues to heat up across the United States, not only has it made its way into many political races, but pro-immigrant groups like La Raza has pulled out their Stradivarius violins and started playing the here for a better life tune- however immigration reform remains empty rhetoric from both parties and has left Americans divided.

The problem with the plan is that it makes sense and does not reward illegal aliens therefore it is racist.

This proposal has merit, serious consideration should be given to all the points made within this offer to resolve the current mess we behold. It is not perfect by any means but it is a better starting point than anything else I have seen or read.
Will common sense rule and allow a debate to occur within the framework of this proposal or will the hotheads on both extremes, left and right, rule and allow heated rhetoric to arrive at a dead end?

The article was very well written and I agree with what is said. Our lame PC politicians are so responsible for this mess. It's seems that there are very few of them that are willing to get tough with la raza, lulac and the other subversive groups. When these groups show up at their offices they duck and hide from them instead of standing by their word and not complying and telling them so. Then we have members of our congress not doing what is right for the American People. ie (CHC Congressional Hispanic Caucus)and other leftest. This is our country and we do not want the illegals here. The politicians pander and speak out of both sides of their bodies without really saying where they stand. GO Border Patrol and ICE!

Hart-Celler Act hearings 1965 Quote: Senate immigration subcommittee chairman Edward Kennedy (D-MA.) reassured his colleagues and the nation with the following:
"First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually. Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same ... Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset ... Contrary to the charges in some quarters,[the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia ... In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think."
Sen. Kennedy concluded by saying,
"The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs." (U.S. Senate, Subcommittee on Immigration and Naturalization of the Committee on the Judiciary, Washington, D.C., Feb. 10, 1965. pp. 1-3.)
"This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this."
-- Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy on the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
"The agreement we just reached is the best possible chance we will have in
years to secure our borders, bring millions of people out of the shadows and
into the sunshine of America"

Member of the Democratic Party
