If he was going for inconspicuous, why not just steal a B-2 Stealth Bomber? I'll never understand the criminal mindset, which is why I'm unfit for government. I wouldn't mind having a couple hundred grand in my freezer though...

Yeah, that's what he had planned but it seems the prison's B2 was being used that day. He then targeted the prison's time-travelling Delorean, but that was being serviced (turns out those darn flux capacitors are really high maintenance). The prison's flying dragon was sick, their magic portal was jammed, and their invisible blimp was out of fuel. So in his last-attempt at escape, he was left with no other option but the fire truck.
