Defiant bikers rally for old times' sake

Despite the city's official efforts to keep them away, every conceivable brand of motorcycle streamed into Hollister on Saturday for the annual biker rally that put the town on the map. Full Story

I AM WRITING IN RESPONSE TO THE HEAVY HANDED TACTICS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT THIS PAST WEEKEND AS THEY WERE SUPPOSEDLY SAVING US FROM OUTLAW BIKER GANGS.

WHAT A JOKE ! THEY ACTED LIKE THUGS..

THERE ARE MANY THOUSANDS IN THIS COMMUNITY WHO FELT HARASSED AND INTIMIDATED BY THE GESTAPO TACTICS OF THESE OVERPAID AND UNWANTED THUGS.

I AGREE WITH OUR MAYOR ROBERT SCATTINI , WHO IS ALSO THE COUNTY MARSHAL. HE STATED THAT IN 46 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT HE HAD NEVER SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE GET PULLED OVER. HE STATED THAT HE WAS EMBARRASED BY THE TACTICS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT.

THEY SUCCEEDED IN INTIMIDATING LAW ABIDING BIKERS FROM COMING IN TO OUR TOWN TO ENJOY THE ATMOSPHERE AND POUT MUCH NEEDED REVENUE INTO OUR COMMUNITY.

THUMBS DOWN TO THE CITY COUNCIL , AND THOSE LAW ENBFORCEMENT THUIGS. I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER HAVING MADE YOUR OVERTIME MONEY AND TICKET QUOTAS.

SHAME ON YOU. I HOPE THAT NEXT YEAR 100,000 BIKERS SHOW UP.

I now know what it's like to live in a Police State. I, a law abiding resident of Hollister, was worried about leaving my house. I wasn't worried about biker outlaws, but rather the police horde and their take no prisoners, show no mercy brand of enforcement. It was clear that the motto "To Protect and to Serve" was replaced by "To Cite and to Harass". Law enforcement wasn't in Hollister to keep the piece, but rather to act as the muscle behind the city counsel's biker ban. It was a disgusting abuse of authority as far as I'm concerned.

I was scared and intimidated by the Police tactics. They sent a wrong message to Hollister. There is a deep hatred for these thugs with badges.

People of Hollister, vote out the City Council Members who voted against the Rally and who voted for the Thug Law Enforcement

I was sitting in the shade enjoying the view of motorcycles rolling through Hollister. I made a comment to a group of uniformed police officers from Merced PD who walked by and I stated "Man, you guys are a long way from home!" One officer smiled and replied "Yup, we're getting paid the big bucks to work overtime!". I noticed there appeared to be the same or more officers this year in Hollister than last year. I wonder how the City of Hollister paid for law enforcement protection this year if they claimed they were in debt for 350K worth of expenses last year.

What do you people expect? Hollister cops are a joke. The DA and sheriff are worthless. You people get what you deserve-after all, you voted them into office.
