I believe that the Governor did receive this money and very well should give it back. He should be held just as accountable as the general public clearly is. All representatives within our governmental decision making should be held responsible for their actions and decisions. Enough of political lies and deceit. As for using this instance to gain political party favor, I also believe that no one party is going to admit wrong doing until they are caught. I for one think the People should insist that our Representatives should not receive the high compensation they get, not be allowed to accept "special interest" funds and not receive raises during their term. Stop the "Grid, lies, pocket filling greedy behavior of our politicians!

What's sad is that you'll never see the end of these rightwing crooks here in Utah. This is a prime example of how a republican government runs.

I agree. I do think that we have more of it in Utah due to possible religious influence.....I will probably vote non-Republican again in the next election year as I always have. Take away the "crooks'" money sources then we might have fair government back for the people....by fair I mean not taking from the disabled citizens, elderly, education standards and other programs that the poorest of poor rely on to live.

I really don't feel good about the governor's actions here. At the very least, he should return the money, and he should probably halt the strip mining process to in order to ensure that his expedited process made the right decision. A lot of people down there aren't happy that their land is about be be strip mined.

I believe the People need to make a change in who is representing us. The greed that our current legislators, including this appointed Governor, display in their terms needs to be curbed. Also, I believe the Church needs to get out of State. It seems that it is deemed acceptable and approved of for our current Utah administration to lie to the People then claim they are such good Christians (Christians are well defined in any definitions of Authority)......Will this change with a change in Party though?

Bring on the Environmentalists and lets expose what our Utah Administration has really done! Yes, the Strip Mining needs to cease until safe guards are in place and it is established that our population in those areas are protected against harm.
