CLAREMORE — Members of the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office recently attended the National Sheriff’s Association annual conference in Anaheim, Calif.
The weeklong conference brings together the largest gathering of Sheriffs and Deputies in the United States.
Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton, Deputies Adam Hull, Johnny O’Mara and Joe Batt attended the conference.
“This was an excellent and important opportunity for the Sheriff’s Office,” Walton said of the conference.“This is a central repository of information and trends throughout the country. I’m grateful that we had the opportunity to attend.”
The Sheriff and his deputies attended formal instruction in multiple areas including jail management, data management, communications, leadership, and resource development.
“There’s not another single place where we can gather this amount of information aside from the NSA conference,” Walton said.“We walked away with more than we had walking in — the ideas we took away from this conference are invaluable.”
The NSA Conference also hosted a trade show which exhibited the latest trends in law enforcement equipment, technology, resources and intelligence.“This was a bulldog of a show,” said O’Mara.“The ideas this trade show inspired was worth the efforts of traveling in and of itself.”
“There are a lot of resources available to law enforcement that aren’t readily apparent,” O’Mara said.“This conference was where those resources become exposed and come to our attention.”
Sheriff Walton said the conference was not only a valuable collection of information, it was also a great opportunity for networking.“While there I was able to meet Sheriffs and deputies from near and far. These contacts are always valuable law enforcement tools.”
This is the first N.S.A. Conference attendance for each of the Sheriff’s Office members who attended.
The conference chooses a different city each year and next year’s conference is slated to be held in St. Louis, Mo.
Now THATS how you sell it!!!

I posted this message a long time ago......things change and some things will never change. What never changes is that there will be citizens that will always watch to see what our elected officials are doing with their tax money. When we quit watching....that means the dictatorship has completely taken over. What has changed is that Cole Butler is done...no more. The time that his family has lost due to the campaigns is enough. Someone else will have to try and unseat Mr. Walton next time. No more.........

Everyone is meeting the sheriff at the casino bar for another drink today.....You will know the sheriff...he will be the bald guy, in street clothes, leaning as he sits on his bar stool asking the bartender for another drink.....What a great deal the Republicans made for our county!! Thank you so much Republican party!
