I hear there are 2 republican candidates running from Rockcastle County. I am hearing there is a candidate running from Casey County Todd Hoskins. I highly recommend against voting for him or any one from Casey County. You thoughts.

I live in Casey County and I agree with your comments regards anybody voting for Hoskins. The two running from your county are Roger Coldiron and Mark Eaton, I understand. How does one contact both or either one of them?

I will say if he is elected he will not think of anyone but the Good Ole Boys of Casey County. The other parts of his district will not even be a after thought. Just like all the cronies of Casey County he will use you then throw you to the curbside... Look at Casey County what do they have NOTHING, the town revolves around a selected few and the rest are casualties . The county has nothing to offer its citizens and sits in the past...Please do not vote for this man.

The district was changed due to KY court ruling, and no longer includes Casey County.
It now is the same as before. Rockcastle, Lincoln and a small part of Pulaski.
The four canidates are:
Jerry Shelton
David Meade
Mark Eaton
Roger Coldiron
Having talked with all four canidates I personally feel Eaton and Meade are the strongest. Coldiron definitely has a "my way or the highway" attitude.
Eaton tends to stress social conservatism most. Meade is conservative, but talks about "creating jobs". To me, this is a big no-no. The government can't "create" a job anymore than they can change the laws of physics.(Yes, through multi-million dollar business bribes they can shift jobs around. But this often leads to 17 jobs for $3 million, which is the number of cars at Sourcecorp.)
Two canidates are from Rockcastle and two from Lincoln. I strongly urge people to vote based upon issues, not where a candidate lives. But with the extreme terroritorial attitude of Rockcastle, this is unlikely.
Rockcastle Countians have been brainwashed into believing the world ends at the county line. They truly identify themselves solely as Rockcastle Countians, not Americans or human beings.
I wish all the candidates well.

I just came across this site and was interested in marchevka22's comment that I have a "my way or the highway" attitude. Do I know you? Have we ever had a conversation? It seems doubtful.
I campaigned very little because my Mother became seriously ill at the beginning of April and she died on Thursday before the election. Her funeral was the day before the primary and, as I spent every day with her, I talked to very few people. I'm not sure how you developed the impression you did, but I spent a lot of time listening to other people's ideas and often accepted others' ways of doing things over my own.
Interesting observation from someone I doubt I've ever conversed with.
