How dare they! This same shelter has failed inspections for gross negligence. They keep promising changes but where are they? If the were clean and had a quarantine section AND DID THINGS RIGHT this would not be necessary. This senseless killing has got to stop. It does nothing to solve the real problem. These animals are innocents. You can kill 50 today--50 more replace them within days or weeks. Pet owners need to be educated and get their pets spayed and neutered. This problem will not be solved by killing animals. Clean up your act!

OH REALLY? Well, it seems perhaps all the caring and "new humane" protocol isn't all it takes. The rampant and hostile emotionalism did not replace reality after all, only the folks who worked hard there for years. Shame, Shame. Should citizens be up in arms again? Perhaps a new lawsuit? New Director, gee, what is your response now? Hard lesson, isn't it and you just got started.
Parvo walks in constantly, keeping a place clean does not keep it out. I believe those who need to "clean up their act" are the very citizens who cry the loudest. I mean really; its like taking your garbage to the landfill and blaming the guy at the gate the place stinks. Those are Robeson animals, animal control did not magically "poof" them there. Good thing those dogs had a place to go to period.
Pet owners ARE educated, they SEE the ads, they SEE the numbers, they just don't SEEM to care.
Wake up Robeson, quit blaming the shelter and the government. That shelter would not even BE there if it wasn't for your apathy.

well that is interesting - this shelter is being slammed all over "Petfinder" with a post that says nothing more then "they killed them all."

Connecticut has suffered greatly in recent months, several shelters have been shut right down due to out breaks of parvo - CT is also a prime import state for southern dogs.

kind of makes you wonder don't it? honestly i believe the Robeson ACO saved a lot of grief and made the Right decision - and it probably weighed very heavily upon his heart to do so. too many rescuers are self-gratifying in their efforts "we saved this mnay dogs this year" well is it truly worth that self-gratification if the dogs travel to other states only to be turned in again as sick or have major behavioral issues? 3 NE states have recently buckled down on the importation of southern "rescued" dogs - and with very good reasons as to why.

Do you animal activists fail to realize that a county shelter HAS to take in every animal that comes through the doors. That shelter could be so clean that you could eat off of the floor and it won't start parvo from coming it. As you well know, once it is there, it is hard to contain when you have unvaccinated animals everywhere you look. If you people would put as much effort into community education as you do in trashing the shelter, we could maybe make a change for the better. But for some reason you feel the importance is on trashing the folks that work very hard in the shelter. If you're going to expend all of this energy, do it in a positive way! People will take notice of that!

More lies from the dog breeders' NK agenda - don't get duped, folks.

And these groups are NOT animal rights nor animal welfare activists - they are animal USE attys, PR marketers, breeders, lobbyists, etc.

It's a front group - for favorable dog breeder legislation.
