The current estimate on the cost of construction is at $6 million dollars, half of that coming from the county and half coming from the City of Springfield.I have to say ,It realy seems like a great idea. The community would greatly benefit from a local collage, but is this realy in our funds? It seems like robertson county is growing without us, and were the ones that are going to pay the price.

What Springfield really need is law enforcment, that is of any value to the citizens of the counry, what is in Robertson co. is a disgrace and embarracment to the new comers and to the life time county people.

You know this is one thing I will totally disagree with you on I know there is vol state but what about those who want a 2nd chance and an education?? I mean really when I left Tennessee I was A high school drop out and had nothing. Now I live in a community that believes in education and training... I ws ablr to go to school cuase i didn't have to find a rife 45 mintues away I just walked to the tech college down the road.I went froma little girl with a child and nothing to give her to woman that can provide for my child and not have to ask for anything from anyone... An education is something you can never take away from someone... Springfield does need a college maybe that will help with the crime cuase people will have other chooses.. and the money will be coming in wihtout having to hussle or break the law to feed your kids or live to the next day.. but I'm sure ya'll don;t think that welfare is a bullshit program that sets you up for failure..

Who said anything about welfare... no one...
We were talking about the new college there is a thread for welfare... go check it out.. And the school would be good except for we who already barely get by will be taxed until we can hardly take care of our families just so others can go to a school that they could drive a few mins down the road to already .

Have you even paid attention to this blog?? look back and you will see what I was talking about welfare... But the taxes aren't that much more and the benefits are way greater for the furture then you could ever think that keeps you tax money paying for something to better you community instead of paying to support people..

Just because someone builds a school doesn't mean it would better the community. Hell half the kids are dropping out of high school... Why don't you worrie about the things happening in Bellingham WA?

I have a wonderful home, a husband, child, new cars and a wonderful job.. I am doing wonderful. Thank you for asking.
I look at my life every day and think about how lucky I am.
I went to collage even though there wasnt' one here and did just fine, same as all the others. there are people on well fare and I think some abuse it but there are more who actually need it.
You are the joke my dear go somewhere else and complain about welfare.

I am not complaining about wel-fare or being rude to you I am glad that you a wonderful life and you are very lucky to have all those wonderful things in your life.. I thank God everyday for what I have and the chance that he gave me I just think that it would be wonderful for other people who aren't as lucky as you to have those chances and having a college that close could give alot of people that chance that have made mistakes and couldn't go to college or just couldn't afford to go to vol state or have a way there. I believe in giving people a chance. I like you do believe that people do abuse welfare.. and that there is a lot of crime and drugs and they do need more law enforcement. But I also believe that if people could get something better in thier lives that there would be less crime.. A good job like you have is something that could keeep some of those people off the streets and I'm sure without or education you proably wouldn't have been able to get that job. An education is somthing that no one can take from you no matter what.. I had to learn that the hard way I just thank God everyday that I undertand that now. And I have had to work 10 times has hard if I'd just listened and did what you did. But if there wasn't this college here for me to go to I don't know if I;d understan all tha now.. ANd I wasn't saying you were a joke I was saying that the way Spt is is a joke.. But hey whatever..
