Old Caney Creek Campground

What ever happened to this old campground? It looks so pitiful now.

it needs someone to re-open it and bring alittle more camping areas to roane county , i remember it when i was a kid loved the conveince

Who owns it now? Just wondering. Isn't the only access to this place via the old bridge? It would probably cost a fortune to put in a new bridge there.

the county owns it. it has 2 have a new bridge built an all water an ele. has 2 b got up 2 new codes.

Im about to come into a pretty sizable windfall if all works out, been looking for something along the lines of this but the big question would be how much would have to be invested in order to get it all back up to code.
The bridge alone would cost a fortune to build.

i'm sorry this camp ground is down 58 in kingston tn. it next to a old air port but the chld modesterlive a cross the lake from the part down from the dumper

Sue-the campground being discussed isn't in Kingston therefore the man that people are being directed to ask is most likely not the same man you are talking about since he can't live across the road from the campground and live in Kingston at the same time. It would be physically impossible. The campground is closer to Roane State and the Roane County Park than it is to Kingston.

The old caney creek campground is county owned. They use it for training purposes for the police. That's what we were told when we asked if we could buy it.
